What year of the ES is/was the coolest?

you are all putting your own cars as coolest. Too funny.
the idea of putting the license plate on the trunk lid was a horrible idea

But at any rate, I like the '04's mostly for the grill improvement. The older gens have ugly grilles.

eventhough i own 04 ES, i would say 03 oz is the best one yet.
Yellow paint, black interior similar to evo's, it has best body style, Similar to EVO look, Shaved trunk and nice ground effect. If you modify 03 OZ, some people will think that it an EVO so in my opinion, it is the best one ever.

I prefer 04 ES.
02-03 have not-too-good-looking front grille and tail lights. they are also too boxy
06 ES has UGLY UGLY horizontal stripes on front grill.......
talking about stock from factory here tho. cuz if ure gonna put $, id say 02 is the best. just get some nice front grill, new tails, drop it, put lips (not a big fan of body kits..) and VOILA!

i don;t like my grille either but it is the more agressive looking model 02-03 oz es or ls . oz is just better equipped but noting u can;t put on an es or ls. and i can't stand the license plate on the trunk with 04 model.
