AEM Cold Air Intake (CAI)

Hello, I was wondering if it would be alright to go threw an automated car wash with the AEM Cold Air Intake installed? And how do you , and when do you change or clean the air filter? and how do you get to it?

Thanks

You should clean/replace your filter every 3rd oil change. It should be okay to go through a car wash with a CAI, I always take the extra step by turning my engine off but leaving my key in the acessory position and leaving the car in nutural.

Wash your car by hand and you will have nothing to worry about.

well with the AEM cai the filter goes right where the vent is on the drivers side of the bumper so if you took that plastic piece of the water would probably get in pretty dam easy. when the filter is wet, you have a greater chance of getting water sucked up because the air will get pulled thru the filter. Just don't drive to hard after and you should be okay...btw do you have the bypass valve? if you do , then it shouooldn't be a problem at all cuz there was an article on their website that showed them submerging the filter in water and flooring the throttle. NO hydrolock just a thought

BING.

But that's just extra safe.

Dumb question - would you drive your car during rain? It's not like the carwash shoves a nozzle in the air duct and hoses the CAI. And besides, the rubber top of the filter is what points forward.

i used to have a cai and went through the car wash frequently without any problems. i hate being at school and not having a hose handy to wash the car. just don't drive it hard afterward for a while.
