Are turbos interchangable? intercoolers? I might get one from a suburu wrx.

 

depends on the turbo size, and room you have for an intercooler...Scooby intercoolers are mounted on the top of the engine rather than a FMIC (front mount intercooler) You'd be better off with an eclipse turbo and intercooler. You'll need custom piping to fit the lancer.

 

do you really have to have a manual to get a turbo? does it matter if you have an auto? i heard that you NEED a manual in order to get a turbo. but im pretty sure ive seen turbos on automatics.

 

you dont need a manual. i believe that ntran has a turbo in his, he put up some dyno numbers and stuff on it.

 

Size has as much to do with it as the type of turbo itself. Different turbos may require different flanges. (i.e. A T25 and a T28 use the same flange, but a T3 does not.)

EDIT: And I wouldn't bother with the IC because the Subarus use flat mounts which probably would not fit in your engine bay unless you bulge/cut and vent the hood.
