I'd love to help, do you have an Idea of what he wants to use his car for or what his optimum goals are? How about a budget? What is the technical background that you guys have? Are you handy, or do you pay someone else to do most of your work? This information would be very helpfull to help you with a proper upgrade path.

the lancer 4g94 isnt hard to work with or figure out. So I guess the best starters would be intake, exhaust, headers (unless he wants to go turbo soon). A good start would br RRMs $79 GReddy muffler and $99 lightweight pulley. They provide a good sounding muffler and fast revving for a cheap price. Then check out RDDs Strut bar combination, theyre a pretty good price and look good.

lol well then hes gonna have to use it for hardcore racing to give a GT a run for its money. Basically without a turbo, hes not gonna be giving much of anything a run for its money. I have an 04 OZ auto and I know
K maybe this will help you.
Stock Lancer 16.5ish-17 1/4 depending on driver, car weight, options, auto or std.
N/A Lancer 15-16 1/4
FI Lancer 13-15 1/4
The base Lancer is not a fast car. If he wants to go faster for the same price, I suggest he sells the car and buys a Bimmer E36, 240 with an SR20, Mustang (V8), DSM (AWD Turbo) or something like that.

uh... a Ford GT? or a Mustang GT?...... LOL..
My friend just got a stock 2001 Mustang GT.. manual tranny. I can keep up with him within a car length or two with my RRM non-ic T-25 turbo kit.. That should give you an idea of how much will need to be done to the lancer to make it quick.
yea, hes gonna need at least the RRM stage 2 kit to "stomp" a stock mustang GT. (but probably not by a whole lot)

Like the others have said, the lancer is by no means a fast car. It is however a very nice looking one. A nice set of rims, the $79 Greddy muffler mentioned earlier, and a nice drop would be a good start. If your friend wants speed then he better have money to burn.
