Cleaning "felt" part of door?

Has anyone cleaned the "felt" part of the door? I'm not sure of what substances to use other than a wet rag? What do you guys use?

I was thinking of something, maybe, in liquid form? I think something spilled, at one point, so it's not something that can come off with a vacuum. I wish it was that easy?

Well, if you are talking about the cloth part in the middle of the door panel...
Get some laundry soap, mix up a bit of it with a little water, almost like a paste for stains or just a soapy solution for everything else, and rub it on, then go back over it with a damp rag to rinse the soap out. Or, if you know somebody with a carpet cleaner (similar to a vacuum) with a wand attachment and use that. Just be careful not to steam clean it, because you could end up loosening the glue that holds it in place, and that wouldn't be good.

And if you are talking about the felt that is along the bottom edge of the window on the inside... I would say maybe a slightly damp cloth, but nothing more really. Don't see that part getting dirty enough to have to clean other than just brush it off with a q-tip or something small like that all that often, so I doubt this is what you meant.

i've used simple green pretty effectively. Even the wand attachment won't work for me (too big) but in the past on my truck I have dabbed the solution in by hand (not reccomended, wear a glove) and was able to use the vacuum part to suck it out. I think any of the laundry detergent (not soap), oxyclean, simple green type products in quasi-dilute form would work well.

I'm not sure if I would call it a fabric....when I think of fabric, I think of cotton or linen or sumthin....stuff I see guys put on when they redo the interior. It's more like "fuzzy" stuff..hehe. I think I'll try oxyclean...I think my mom has some at her house.

im more curious how you guys get it dirty.. i mean.. its your car.. treat it like you would a 5'2 110 lb Italian Swimsuit model... like solid gold.... you would get any grimey stains on your italian swimsuit model would you? well... aside from the obvious.

personally ive never had to clean the upholstry in any of my cars ever with the exception of foot mats...

but i would reccomend a warm thin mixture of a non-bleaching washer detergent.
