Shift knob weights

Hi,

I was thinking of getting a RAZO shiftknob, but there seems to be many different weights like 150 grams, 300 grams, etc. What is the difference between different weights of the shift knob? Thanks...

lol.... I think the weight effects the shift.... I would assume a heavier shiftknob would do more of the work for you cause it has more weight in motion....... but thats just a guess I'm not really sure

I had the razo 340g and it lasted all of 1000 miles and the leather pulled out. The Greddy ball is nice an heavy and you won't have that problem.
Get them on ebay

^^the razo 340g? isn't that made of metal?

according to http://www.carmate.co.jp/razo/knob/14.html, there's no leather...

Maybe they stopped putting leather on it for the above mentioned reason, hehe. I would think that knob weight depends on personal preference. although, I notice a big difference in ease of shift between those crappy plastic jobbies and a solid knob. But, I have to say I think the Razo looks better than the greddy ball. Just an opinion, though

Always heard great things about the Shunk2 weighted knobs for other applications...

I have the GReddy counterweight shift knob and I LOVE it!!! It totally makes my shifting smoother and easier. I don't have to put much energy into the knob for it to shift. It was a lot better for me than the stocker.

But just FYI....I'm not sure if you're planning to switch to a short shifter if you haven't already...but with the B&M short shifter you need the Honda thread, not Mitsu. I learned the harder way..lol.

I have a TWM shift knob, its stainless steal and also weighs about 2 lbs. Although it's super cold in the morning since it's metal.

I have the greddy counter weight shift knob. I like it. The shifts feel more precise. The only complaint that I have is the 3/4" gap that is left because the Greddy knob is shorter than the factory shift knob. I fixed that gap with a zip tie under the boot to hold it up against the bottom of the shift knob.

Has anybody put a good shift knob on one of the ebay short shifters? I've had this fake carbon fiber ball on mine for too long. I'm really looking for something that will thread on.
