Does having you windows tinted make your car more hot during the summer, or cooler in the summer?

I cant seem to get the right idea here, i mean the tint lets less sunlight through, therefore it should be cooler. But then again, black absorbs the most heat.

You decide.

In direct sunlight vs rolling the window up...If it's good stuff like SUNPRO, 3M. You can actually feel the difference. It also preserves your interior.

I have a black es and it's sooo much better with tint. That and a sunscreen and my car doesn't suck too bad in the middle of the day after sitting in the sun for a few hours. I also don't have to use the air conditioner as much to get the car cool.

the whole deal is that black absorbs sunlight, and therefore the heat that comes with absorbing sunlight. you would think that may be bad, but which is better? having your tint absorb that heat? or your interior? also as DRFTKNGG said, it preserves your interior. . there is only so much armor all can do, tint is the best way to go, but never tint darker than you think is good for you. and never tint more than legal limit, its just a big hassle when you get pulled over for something stupid like tint. .

Aha, i get it now. The tint absorbs the heat, instead of your interior. Thanks for clearing that up.

Oh yeah, no cops anywhere around here pull over for illegal tint. My friend has been rolling around with a pretty obvious 5% on his Eclipse, and he hasnt been pulled over one time, its been a good 2+ years for him too. Thats just one example, i cant really think of anyone who was pulled over for it.

I just got 3M done not even a week ago, and not only is it baddass and makes the car look better, but I can actually feel the difference in Temp. from how it was, to how it is now.
I live in Florida, so my car was always hot as **** when Id get in.
So I tinted it mainly for that reason, and its great... and darker inside

Remember, Black attracts heat, but its outside and the light isnt penetrating as much, so it ends there. Theres only as much heat as there is light.

$129 here in cali for a decent tint job. Some shops will charge u $199.00 where they cut out the tint paper on a machine......so it all depends.

its supposed to help keep the car cool. being that i am in AZ there is not to much we can do to keep the car cool. the only time i notice it keeping my car cool is if the a/c is blowing. it helps maintain the temp but if the car is not on it just get like a furnace.
