Yeah. I was tempted to pay it off this month but I figured it doesn't cost me anything more to wait until next month so why bother?

you're in the same boat as me! only 1 more payment left..in 2 weeks the car will be paid off...and no more $510 payments!

 

I still owe a little under 5k on my car. Thanks mom and dad for fronting me money and then lending me money for performance parts.

 

I'll hold on to this one for a while, because I think my next car will be ethanol powered, or hybrid at the least!

 

I have about 30 months left on my car loan. The book says 36, but I doubled up a few payments here and there to knock it down quicker.

Right on dude! I just put my loan on my Amex.... hold on, hear me out. My bank had me at 12.5% and refused to lower the rate- I just refinanced my home, used that to pay off all debt except my car, student loans and about $2500 of my wife's debts. They still wouldn't come down. So I call AmEx and explain what's going on. They transfer the balance of my car loan into my checking account. I call my bank and ask them to look at my account and see if there's any way they can come down on the APR. She says "well, the last loan application we have would put you at 14.5% and honestly the best we can probably do is aroud 10%... would you like to come in and submit another loan application?" "Hold on one second <open banking website, transfer frunds from checking to car loan> um no, I think it's taken care of" "Oh! I see it is.... well, I uh, gess, thanks for calling...."

Amex is at 7.9% and I get the title in 4 weeks from the state

Definitely look into an ethanol vehicle. My next is going to be a diesel truck and/or a "multi fuel" engine Jeep or Ural bike... depends on what I can find that's serviceable.
