HP/MPG - not really. Some people will say they can, but it's rarely "I gained 3 mpg!" and more vague comments like "the car feels like it gets more hp/mpg."

Thats cause a drop-in in your evo can support 400hp! thats so nice. For us lancers i think the best way to go is mas adaptor and kn filter. i've heard that the closer the filter is to the adaptor the more throttle response.

i know K&N are good filters, but he told me the steel mesh ones are the best. It seems to be working well.

Particles smaller than the mesh is the problem. I have never seen one but if its anything like the washable steel mesh oil filters I think there is probably a better choice.
