Install - easy. Less than an hour.

HP/MPG - not really. Some people will say they can, but it's rarely "I gained 3 mpg!" and more vague comments like "the car feels like it gets more hp/mpg."

Thats cause a drop-in in your evo can support 400hp! thats so nice. For us lancers i think the best way to go is mas adaptor and kn filter. i've heard that the closer the filter is to the adaptor the more throttle response.

any word on those new aem no-clean filters? Good?

I could definitly feel the power increase from my new intake when I installed it (very easy install, even for CAI). I bought a brand new AEM CAI for about 60 bucks + shipping cause someone else bought it and tried installing it on their automatic before they realized it wouldn't fit It had a few scratches, but well worth the great deal.

Particles smaller than the mesh is the problem. I have never seen one but if its anything like the washable steel mesh oil filters I think there is probably a better choice.

If you got it from Blitz, then yeah. If you got it at Autozone, I'd tend to worry.
