Alright, which intake?

I know that its all the same crap...but I also know these cars can get finicky when it comes to the MAS.

Refuse to spend more than $50 on an intake...know it wont pick up anything but a few horsepower, but anything is needed on an auto. This is for an auto 03. I'm probably going to pick up one off ebay and wanted to know what exactly is necessary so the sensor doesnt malfunction.

One would think their all the same ****; a tube that guides the air intake from the bottom up...
As long as the Sensor (the Black Box), and its internals are in-tact and on correctly... I guess youde be fine.
Get an eBay one from BOMZ (theirs actually fits right).
Unless you wanna spend $200 on the AEM Intake, for the same result.
I would suggest you get a K&N filter tho, cus the generic filters actually restrict mass-airflow.

^^^Sorry to say, but the engine puts out the same hp for man or auto. It's just the power loss due to the slush-box verus clutch.

Just get an MAF adapter, clamp, and ***re-useable filter***. That'll do it...

^^^ what they all said.

I got the RRM ram air but i would just make sure it comes with a good filter. thats really where you gain the power (ie: k&N)

all you need is an adapter and a filter. I would stay away from those steel mesh ones at autozone. The stock intake pipe is better than the ebay ones because they are cheap alluminum and get super hot.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LANCE...06441441QQrdZ1

thats the cheapest one i've found.

i'm thinking it being a short ram would probably suck in hot air being right in the middle of the bay.

there's this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/02-05...06989384QQrdZ1

which seems to be a much longer pipe and away from the engine bay, but its for a manual.

Basically what I'm asking is if anyone has had any negative results with a SRI, specifically any of the super short pipe ebay ones.

Get an HKS dual air filter. I got one for 20 dollars. It's probably not much better than a regular short ram, but it looks cool.
