So I went a day early...
to pick up my new Lancer. It had 7 miles on it and I drove it 8 to work. Well when I turned off the car and got out there was smoke coming from the exhaust. Is this normal? And if so how long can I expect this. This is my first new car so I might need some explaining about the breaking in period. Thanks.
I got my car with 10 miles on it and it has never smoked. I do not believe this is normal, I would take it back to the dealer.
edit: just saw above post, do you think weather (hot vs cold) might have something to do with this, it gets a helluva lot colder where you guys live.

not a good sign, was it smoke or just condensed exhaust from cold?
smoke indicates something leaking, like oil.. take to dealer and have em look at it.
Congrats on the car, it'll treat you well.

mine smoked, it's honestly just the protectant they put on the things while they are in the warehouse, most new exhausts have an odd smell and a slight cook off of the stuff...smells like dry maccaroni to me.

) and I didn't have this problem. I would definately take it to the dealer to have it checked, just to be safe
