Will there be a new lancer forum for EVO Owners?
Yoink!!
I did notice quite the big change when the WRX came out on the i-club board. I never did see the hostility tho. What I am glad for was that we finally got a forum dedicated to us GC8ers that went turbo. The GC8 is still more of an enthusiast car, I think. How many sightings of the GC8 have you seen compared to the WRX?! Not many I would say. Ah well, I do love them both.
My problem is that I see the majority of the Lancer owners being total ricers. You didnt have that between the NA and turbo platforms of the Subaru. The Impreza was an enthusiasts car from the git go. While the lancer is out there like and other sub compact high school kid car. Then you those that cut their springs, add gay kits, etc etc etc. Thats where I see big differences between the platforms, and thusly the boards. I dont want to see the boards bogged down by people asking "How can I make my lancer look more like the EVO? Cant I just paint the calipers tosay Brembo?"
Maybe Im just a cynical *******!?

Show me the rice (whether it be longed grain wild rice or nasty bleached stuff
) and I'll believe you. I'd say 80% of the Lancer owners here want true performance. Unfortunately, we lack the manufacturer support as of yet. Hopefully, we'll get it. Of course there will be those loudmouthed ones who want the wacky body kits, gigantic wheels and hideous spoilers, or who want an Evo doppleganger, but that's life unfortunately. Different people, different strokes. Plus, as has been noted, there will be a natural division, but it doesn't mean people still can't BS in OT or talk about interesting things in General. It's ridiculous to think that the two communities won't be able to get along.

You want rice?
Just go to ANY thread in the show and shine section. For some reason these sections always attract the rice! Even at the i-club. Im just saying.... And all this talk of NOS on an EVO?! Cmon, you cant tell me that anyone who knows something will be putting NOS onto the EVO! You would be out lookign for one thing, and one thing only, to race every friggin honda you came across on the streets.
IMO, NOS has no place on the track.
Thats all.
Surely I cant be the only who feels even slightly this way?!

NOS is cheap and easy in the short term. That's why it is popular. It's a bow out to find performance. Of course I whole heartedly agree with you and that yes, NOS would have no place on a track. A) it's exhaustable and I don't think pitting for NOS is a good idea... and B) I don't think any track enthusiasts like driving around with a bomb in their trunks. However...for those guys who want to drag 1/4 miles on the street, NOS is a way for them to help themselves out. No one said talking about street racing was bad did they? Look at the Kills section. Why do you think it was put there? As for Show and Shine attracting rice, didn't you see it coming? It's always is gonna happen, because those people are the ones who want the big kits for "show and shine" and unfortunately nothing else.
