Who's leaving the MLR?

Just wanted to have a quick check of people that are going to leave the MLR because of their "smart" paid members policy. Spoke to Claude about it and had a good laugh about it last week. I mean, don't get me wrong, I think the MLR forum is very good (honestly, yes, really honestly) but just run by, let's say, people that are not with the latest marketing theories (damn, that was nice of me!! Bad words didn't even cross my mind....must be the lack of drugs, .... or the Prozac... )
Anyway, who's not gonna pay? I think Claude is one...

Dino, when you're online, sign into Messenger, konnayarou!!

Yes, actually I'm feeling a little ill.... I have to take some aspirin.

Evo_dan, you don't have to know the MLR, it's a UK Lancer club that will be history very soon. They still have a forum that is/was quite good, but starting from March only paid members are allowed to post. So by all reasonably terms the club will not attract many more members. But hey, it's good for forums like this one as there will be quite a few people leaving and looking for a new home!

MLR

Hi MichaelK, Okitenik and everyone else (formerly) from the MLR,

It's Hesperus (also from the MLR) here. This is my first visit to this board... looks good so far!

Actually, they've decided NOT to charge for non-member postings for now, until a later date when a final decision is made on how to handle this controversial topic.

I'm from S.E. Asia as you probably know, so I haven't paid-up my membership, yet I've still been able to post.

Okitenik, just wondering-- why did you delete the MLR link? I never got the impression you were upset by what was going on at the site?

Anyway, glad to be here as well!

Cheers!

Yep, this place is getting better and better cause there's quite a few people here who now about the American way of tuning. Let's face it, they make the strongest engines, obviously I'm not talking about driveability here....
On suspension, etc. ... we Europeans RULE!!! :headbng2:

At least give the correct facts! Yes, the MLR is a little slow at the moment with not so many postings as there have been. However, today (Sunday) there have been 68 posts to 8.23pm! And it really is very quiet at the moment.

The MLR is still the best source of technical advice on Evo matters and with exciting developments coming in the next month, should remain at the forefront. However, this is no reflection on this forum, because they cater for different people and, in general, different types of post. There is room for both and I am in no doubt both will continue to thive.

hesperus...the reason I deleated it is because I found this one so much better. The MLR is ok for techincal stuff but there are very few posts and I never liked the program they have based their forum on. I find it much more fun here and much easier to use. Plus loads of people have moved here so I really don't see the point!
