well its true, our cars are slow as *****. I was out on a track last night with my friend.

i got me 2003 Lancer OZ, auto, with a new intake
my friend has a 1994 Honda Civic, Manual, complete stock.

he killed me. simple as. granted, i was manually shifting, and because i have a dislocated wrist i accidently overshifted from 1st to 3rd. i also have a bit of a gimp back wheel, and i had a passenger. but still, i was well and truely beaten.

No real point to this story, just sharing my tale of sorrow.

What were your times? And sh*t, if you car is busted and you miss a shift, I wouldn't be surprised that you lost...

Or was "out on a track" just said so I wouldn't close this?

i said track, so you wouldnt get the impression i was street racing.

So anywho, yeh i know my shift screwed me up alot, and my gimp wheel,. but i still lost pretty badly. He burned out crazy, and then just took of, i barley got moving before he was gone. lol

 

You should learn that your lancer is not gonna do anything to a vtec sorry.

a vtec i could live with. this...........well this is just sad.

 

It gets worse than that. I just helped my mom pick up a 2006 Rav-4 with the V6 and it puts down 269hp. I could handle getting punked by a poopy Civic but by a mom driving crossover SUV? Yeah....

 

I feel for you.. my "commuter" car is a 92 honda Civic DX.. the SLOWEST car I've ever driven.. It feels deceptively peppy until you need to accelerate from a stop or perform a sudden passing maneuver.. I have a tired saturn that is actually much quicker than the Honda, thats the "family car" that I use when I have to go out with the wife and kids.. my wife has a hyundai elantra wagon thats even quicker than the honda..

I used to get alot of crap about "Street racing threads" I have a private road not too far from where I live what I use to tune my car.. Occasionally I'll meet up with someone for a heads up race.. Its technically not a track, but Its on private property, where I have explicit permission to go in there and use the facility as long as nobody leaves a mess or tears up the place..

 

yeh i know. i was trying to keep my topic open, but because 1 of the mods hates me, it gets closed for no reason.

but anywayz, i need to make my car faster, so i can at least beat this kid. when i get a pulley i should be set. and when my wrist gets better so i can actually shift. and also when i get my wheel fixed.......and also i wont bring a passenger next time. lol

i do got some good excuses for loosing though :P

 

I've beat an Automatic 98 Civic from a stand still. And I"m driving and 02 oz Auto.

both cars had 4 passengers each.

Not worth fighting about, but I had my friend ride along with me at the last Buschur Evo/WRX shootout I was at. So it could happen...
