I doubt very much that it is your timing belt that is squealing at 5k rpm's.. Are you sure it is not your power steering or alternator belts? timing belt doesnt squeal, it slips a couple of notches and then your valves bend.

The more I think about it the less confused I am. IMO it would be smart, if you are going to continue moding your car, to put the damper on now. You will be ahead of the game as far as engine vibration is concerned and will offer some insurance against problems that can develope from that vibration.

true.
i dont have much cash to spend.
i need to get my timing belt done soon, cos im at 63K, i will have the mechaninc find out what is squealing, my steering is a bit funny too, so it might be related.

i may just buy the dampner now, to buy the pulley i would have to pay someone to fit it too. And i cant afford that yet. this is just some extra cash i got.
I want to get a piggy, but by the time i save the money it'll be christmas or something. i dont get much extra money. lol

ok well i bought the engine dampner. just because i can fit that myself, and its still something worth getting, granted it wont give me as much performance as a pulley, but at least i wont have to pay someone to install it.

anyone know how long it usually takes to get things from NSC???

Well I ordered one about 2 weeks ago and I"m still waiting for it. They were making a brand new batch and mine was in it.

From what I've read in other posts, it all depends. Some have taken weeks to get them, others a few days.

The engine dampener should have cost you less than 40 bucks, which really isn't htat much of a dent in your wallet and well worth the change in engine movement.

Mine was completed last Friday (7/28) I know because I got an email. I ordered it more than a week before that, and unless its sitting in front of my door right now, I still have'nt gotten it. So be prepared to wait. I asked them about the long wait and let them know about what people were saying on here and they seemed to get a little upset and explained to me that there is only two guys making these part-time. But your chances might be good because if mine is done they may have just completed a batch. If not, it will be like a month or so.
