well ive seen those.... but ive also seen it done without them, just mounted in the stock hole... and since im a little strapped for cash id rather do it that way.
There are double DIN kits you can buy that move the HVAC controls down there. a few vendors sell them.
There is also a stock Mitsu kit that will put a 6-disc changer there as it is DIN sized.

BTW, I just looked at my stock cubby hole thing... there's no way to fit a DIN radio in there without completely dremelling out the whole bottom part at least 1/2" on each side. And the radio won't be very secure in there because there will be nothing left to hold it on the sides. Someone may have done it, and it may somehow work, but the amount of effort and tooling that go into it, you may as well spend the time delivering flyers or something to make $50 and go get the relo kit.

And also the double-din kits from
are not that easy to get, as our AC controls have to be modified to fit that DIN size. In other words you'd have to buy the HVAC that actually fits down there (the entire kit, which is $$$) or the modified kit like Orbital sells or modify the current HVAC setup without the current dials.

The one I got from
did not require me modify anything. I will look up the part number for you if you like. My dealer can get them easy. So PM me I can get the price from my dealer and ship it to you if thats something you want to do.

It works perfectly fine, I bought mine because I wanted the gauges in the dash. Take 30 minutes to install. The only difficult part of installation is popping out the clips which hold the center peice of the dash together through the glove box, once this is done remove the cd payer and everything is EASY! Remove two screws from stock cubby hole, and install the damn relocation kit. Have fun!
what about the wiring to your radios? Did you need to extend the wiring/buy a wiring harness? I'm getting ready to do this same thing, for placing guages where the radio sits. Thanks for the great thread!
