18" on an ES?
I just saw a post for some unreal price for Motegi MR7 wheels and Pirrelli tires. Great price, I don't know how they are doing it though. Anyway, to the point,
I don't think18"s are a good idea for the Lancer. Maybe EVO but not regular Lancer's. I put 17" with 205/40-17 Yokohama's on it and they are at the limit. There is very little sidwall left. If you go to 18"s you are just asking for all kinds of trouble. The side wall will be even like rubber bands and you will feel every bump in the road. Plus you are opening up to lots of potential wheel damage. Unless you are racing I wouldn't go beyond "plus 3 sizing". I'm not saying you can't, do what you want, but I'm saying you will probably have more trouble than what they are worth.

We have a Lancer here on the showfloor with 17's mounting 215/45 tires and there don't seem to be any issues. I personally don't like the look of 18's on cars like these - sometimes I think the OEM 17's on my Spec V look silly - and I certainly see no real reason to go bigger.
