wrecked my Lancer OZ :(

I hydroplaned into a telephone pole about 2 weeks ago going about 40-50mph Is there any way I could replace the front end of it and keep going or will I have to part from my baby? Everyone around here doesn't know much about cars and I dont take their word for it....I know I'll need a new radiator, and motor (because oil fliter broke off in the block), motor mounts, hood, fenders, and bumper....I'll post pics of it later. but what do you al lthink? has anyone ever done this before?

Fisrt things first.... I think I can speak for everyone saying we are glad you are alright. But unfortunately I doubt we would really know 100%, You would have to go to a garage and have it checked top to bottom to make sure it would be repairable (IE: Frame not warped) Even if everything is good, it will take a helluva lot of money to fix it. I know everyone wants to upgrade, but don't you think there was an easier (And safer) way to ensure you needed to do the 4G63 swap? J/K... But seriously... I personally think it will cost less to get another car man.... sorry to say, and hear, it.

Do you have insurance? That car has GOT to be totalled. So I say just go that route - get them to cut you a check and move on. After an accident like that, the car will never be the same.

Your body demolished the steering column? And you're alive to post about it?

Insurance expired a month ago. . . . yeah, I'm just not going to comment on that.

Do they LET you drive without insurance where you live? yikes. Bad Idea.

Good thing your okie though!

Sounds like your car is gone, sorry.

New engine will EASILY cost 3-4k. Not to mention all the other stuff you'd need.

But uhh if your gonna part it out, how much for the Guage Cluster

I'd be willing to bet the answer is "until they notice it."

$6000 WTF! My sisters ES wasn't totaled when someone hit her from behind. The repairs costed over $9000 too so the OZ's must be worth at least that much.

Yeah, its such a bad idea to drive without being insured.

But I've been told there are SOME states that allow you to, I've never LOOKED into it, nor really beleived it but meh.

Like New Hampshire, its ALMOST believable because you can sell the damn car without owning the freakin title.

Maybe its legal(highly doubt it is in all 50 states though), still a horrid idea non the less.
