But I've been told there are SOME states that allow you to, I've never LOOKED into it, nor really beleived it but meh.
In SC here you can pay the state a one time fee of $500 or $550 and drive forever without any insurance. In my opinion, very bad idea; and a great idea in my case to have great non-insured motorist coverage.

Yes, you car is toasted, well-done, over-cooked, fried, etc. Needless to say, time for a new ride. Ride the bus much?

Thats not fixable. Sorry to hear it man. It would be cheaper to buy a new car, plus after you fixed that it would be worth less than you paid to fix it.

you should find a straight road and intentionally hydroplane your vehicle. . you will learn fairly quickly how to deal with it. . .i love driving around town during thunderstorms. i power understear around every corner and hydroplane on every puddle. . . (mind you im not going fast and i dont do this crap when other cars are near. im not an ******* or a retard.) i just think that everyone should practice as much as possible in every situation. im not suggesting you go and be a dick or do this on a narrow mountain road. .

as far as the OP's dilemma. Im sorry man, it sucks to seee this kind of stuff happen. especially since theres no insurance. im glad you are ok. it sucks to see so much death lately and its good you werent another statistic, but like everyone has said, it would be cheaper to buy an exact replica of your car than it would to have this one rebuilt. that is if the frame were actually still ok. i doubt it is though. good luck with this though. keep us posted on your plans.

I did that, it was great until the day came that the road was slicker than i thought, my back end fishtailed, and i 180'd into a curb doing over $300 damage to my suspension and brake. which is still not 100% fixed.

best bet is to go to an open parking lot and just go nuts, that way theres no risk of hitting anything if you do loose control

Glad that u made it out of that alive but here is the bad news. Any car that gets hit in the front never drives the same way again because no matter how many parts you or they replace something will get over look because on the outside it may look good but some how it got affected by the hit.
Also from that pic looks like the frame rails got bent inwards abit so you will need to have the chassis straighten if they did. If they are bent I say leave this car alone because if ur going to fix it then modd it for speed that will require they reinforcing the front structual integrity when they repair this because once the frame is bent and have to be bent back it weakens them each time.

500 for a new engine + the costs to put it in alone. The body looks FUBAR'd.
