Mitsu Mechanic says 'Lancer is a peice of sh*t'!!!
shoulda, woulda, coulda...he pro'bly drives a primered out camero...The lancer and evo are not the same car. I am sure you lancer owners will hear that phrase alot "Why didnt you just get the EVO?"
Well have fun with your car making it faster. As I have heard said before......"It's fun to drive a fast car slow, but it's sometime even better to drive a slow car fast." Have fun with your mods man!

People are always promoted to the point of their ineptitude. The dummer you are the higher you typically get promoted...
The master mechanic and the dealership near me told me the first time I brought my car in that my SRI was 'starving' my engine for air. This was in response to an odd bucking sensation I started getting in the car after the CEL came on when a vaccum line solenoid die.
I took it off and came back the next day (they had to order a part to fix my Lancer) and chewed him out about there was no possible way that the filter was starving the engine for air. To which he THEN responded that no it wouldn't starve the engine for air. But that the air "resevoir" in the air box provided "positive pressure" and that my air intake was probably giving the engine "too much air" and causing my problems. I said sure whatever considering I had run the air intake for over 3000 miles with no problem. I have it back on now of course and have no problems either.
What a fricken idiot, switching his story and trying to tell me that there is a point of positive pressure inside of a factory air box? Where are they hiding the compressure necessary to do that I wonder? dumbasses! Mechanics these days just change whatever part the computer tells them and don't know jack.
Next time you see that dealer you should show up turboed, fuel managed and running a hot 250 at the wheels and see how much the POS lancer sucks :-).

I don't know.. i personally dont' think regular lancers are anything to boot about.. It lacks the perfomance and the handling, in its price segements.. I think honda's out perform the lancer in many many aspects.. IF the lancer look is ur thing then go for it.. but when i was in the market for a FF fun car.. the regular lancer never came to my mind.. I mean come on the lancer only has what 120 hp.. back in 98 my integra had 140, and the gsr had 170.. even the lowly civic boost a 127hp and all these cars can out handle a lancer stock.. With that said.. the evo is a different story..

I think the mechanic wasn't too far off. Before everyone starts crying - I drive a Lancer ES, so it's not like I hate Mitsu or the Lancer. But, if we're talking performance then the lancer is ****. Hell, my car's so slow that it can barely get out of its own way, the brakes are crap, and it handles like an elephant on a very small bicycle. On the flip side, it is comfortable, quiet, has lots of power thingies, is fairly roomy, and gets decent gas mileage. When you slap that blower on then you'll be running what? 14s at best? That's a whole lot of time, effort, and money to run that slow, especially when there are enough cars out there that will run that, or quicker, bone stock.
Still, if doing that makes you happy then more power to you, but I can understand where the mechanic is coming from.

Sounds like he doesn't know **** from shineola.
He must have inhaled too many excess vapors from the parts cleaner or subjected to paint chips. That guy should be canned for bad mouthing the product in front of a customer. If I was the head svc. manager I would have his *** sweeping up the shop for minimum wage.

I want to know who said we bought a lancer for performance, I sure as hell did not. I bought it because for what I paid and all the accessories that came with it was a damn good deal. I am happy with what I got. I still say that I got a damn fine automobile for what I paid. I wouldn't mind supercharging my lancer, but that won't be happening (should I decide to) for a long time (maybe then I could afford it). to sum it up, I am happy with my car, it is exactly what I expected.

I'm just givin ya a hard time. If I were to purchase a NEW (not used) vehicle right now and it had to be in the 'round-a-bought-price range of the lancer........there would be no decision..ummm SRT-4?

o.k. let's get this straight the lancer is a good platform car to have fun w/ and mod out, and has cooler parts than the civic cause it's diffrent. and for all you evo owner's just shut up already we know it's not an evo nor do we ever make the comparison you should have respect for us cause we are all in the same family. all mitsu's gotta make a name 4 us cause we are the minority out their.
i'am tired of people saying but it's not an evo, ah no **** cause i just got outta school and have tons of bills and can't afford one.
oh and the inegra is like still 10 thousand more than the lancer and still holding about the same in horse so you tell me who had the deal 15,500 for 120+ or 25,000 for 150(we'll say) hmmmmmm
i would buy my lancer again and again if i had to

i have a civic that tops at 110 mph, even my old galant at 200000 miles beats it 125mph. have driven a lancer es to 120 btw.
