Lowering on a kit?

Well, a bunch of the places in my area have notoriously steep driveways and I was concerned about dropping my car when I have a body kit since my chances of busting it would be greater.

The kit itself was a necessity anyway since my stock front bumper is busted and it wouldve costed almost twice as much to fix.

Whatever, but my question is if it is too much of a difference lowering or not.. my car is on 17s (just put em on) so I don't know if the car would settle in on them.

Pics would help too, and thanks!

Well, I can say that I've been over a few driveways, entry-ways, parking lots, whatever that have scraped the front and rear bumpers on my car. I have a full Ken kit, with 17's, and lowered more than others (2"-3") on Eibach springs on Ground Control coilovers. But as soon as you learn "your limit" on inclines/declines you'll be fine. Even my wife knows how to enter/exit at an angle now. Props to her for that!

I always scraped my stock OZ kit when I was lowered. So I gotta figure you're going to hit an aftermarket kit.

+1.. I've hit my stock OZ bumper a few times on the underside with the eibach kit.. and thats not even lowered a whole lot. When I had a kit on my old eclipse, I wasn't even lowered and banged it once or twice.. resulting in me having to do some bondo work and repainting. Then again, I live in michigan where potholes can be as wide as a lane, 1 ft deep, and 5 feet across. (yes, literally.. lol. The famous I-75 at rosa parks pothole. hasn't been fixed for a year)

LOL... to those whove had their cars lowered, is the hassle worth it?? (the tradeoff of fixing your car every now and then for a nice fender gap shortening)

I was starting to steer toward lowering it, but looks like I'll have a nightmare on body work..

Well, in terms of handling, yes it's worth lowering it. Worth every penny if you care enough about performance. Or if you're a mega-ricer and gotta look SLAMMED!

I'm using Tien SS coilovers dropped down as far as I can go, I have 18x7.5 wheels with 215/35 rubber as well on my OZ and I only scrape on the front once in a while, almost never really... If I had an aftermarket bodykit I would have to be a little more cautious, you just can't go flying over any curbs, pretty much the same driving practices as if you weren't lowered, the only issue I've had is not alot of jackstands will fit under your car... the stock scissorjack will fit but those things suck tailpipe!!!!
