Stupid Wiring question

Ok, I did search under wiring but am having some trouble with exactly what I'm looking for. Could someone clear it up, or point me the correct thread? Thanks.

I installed my oil pressure sending unit, and my wideband into the HFC. I found the (grommet?) on passenger side of firewall for guage wires to go to.

I took off my glove box, and how the heck do I get to the firewall to pull the wires through? I know it's probably a stupid question, but I'm clueless. Any help would be greatly appreciated (I think the wife's about to have a panic attack I don't have the car together!)

Thanks!

eidt: I found one thread speaking of a grommet on the passenger side. Would this be the big, bulbouse grommet I'm seeing?

take off the carpet and the plastic covers, its under the glove box, you haveta take off the plastic side step, then another plastic peice under the dash, then pull the carpet back and you will see a hole with wires running through it

if the grommet and hole are in the same place all you need to do is run a wire coat hanger through the hole and into your engine bay. secure the wire you need to run into the cabin to the coat hanger and gently pull it into the cabin. done.

it helps to have someone under the hood of the car feeding the wire through so it doesn't get hung up or cut.

Ok. I pulled up the carpet, styrofoam, etc. I found one grommet on the floorpan. I used this to run the wideband wires into car and behind where glovebox goes. Great! I am currently trying to run 3 wires through the grommet (looking under hood, from front bumper) on passenger side at top of fire wall. I can get the hanger in pretty far..... But I can't figure out where it comes out! I set that aside and am taking apart the cubby hole, and I pulled the knobs off HVAC controls and removed the screws. Just came back to check on what I have to do now to remove the HVAC faceplate. I'll keep working with the coathanger - maybe once I get the HVAC faceplate off, I'll see where the hanger is coming through. Thanks!

Edit: ok I'm determined to make this upper grommet, near the windhsield, on the passenger side work. Any tips? I get the hanger to go all kinds of places, but nowhere I can see it! Who's done this before?

Ok, I took care of the wiring. Thanks y'all for the advice. It helped! 2 More questions!
1. I've had to lengthen some sending unit wires, as well as I shortened some +, and - wires for bridging purposes. Please tell me the lengthening/shortening of these wires won't screw up my guages?
2. Would having oily hands while (attempting) soldering, would this cause problems? Yesterday I did six splices wham bam no problem, today I can't solder to save me life.

P.S. what do you think about using those crimp/snap splicing pieces? I know it's not great at soldering, but with my abilities in question, I was contemplating buying a few.
Thanks again!
