Nitrous is nowhere near as safe as turbo. For one, with a turbo you get a consistent and controllable amount of extra air in the form of boost and the car can actually adjust for the extra air. There's also the problem of heat, a turboed car has the ability to use an intercooler to battle this problem, a nitrous car cannot. Plenty of people have tried to run a 75 shot, and eventually their engines have failed. I highly doubt that nitrous is legal, considering that even little things like intakes and exhausts are not always legal. The fact you race on the streets at all is a very poor indication of your maturity and general common sense.
As for torque steer, you shouldn't have any torque steer with the mods you have, unless you're talking about getting torque steer when you use nitrous.

Why street race at all? Take it to the track so someone innocent doesn't get hurt.

Your probably right. Our engines arnt honda engines and dont take to nos as well as some others. Thats pretty much it. Nos is a waist of time unless your drag racing, and the lancers dont drag race (and do wel) imo

NOS is not necessarily any worse for your motor than a turbo. it has nothing to do with boost or intercooler. It has to do with the sudden pressure spike of the boost or in this case, the NOS in the engine. If you suddenly introduce a large amount of force something will break as opposed to slowly bring on that extra pressure. Another thing most people do not take into account is the need for extra fuel and cut out when shifting. You will run lean running a descent size shot of NOS plain and simple. lean = boom.

If you're serious into drag racing (something nitrous was intended for) you don't drive FWD...period.

Nitrous isn't a bad thing, just makes you do bad things (aka put a bigger shot in the car)...I run nitrous on my evo but its only a 50 shot...a small wet shot would be fine, gain 35hp and even more torque...

Yea I know they are quite different engine wise, but a 35 shot wouldn't hurt, its just not that great cost/benefit wise. It all depends what you are looking to do, I have nitrous solely for the drag strip since I autox the car mainly but want the added power at the drag strip...

Actually i have never raced on or off the track, I recently got my nitrous and only tried it once. I got my lancer 3 years ago and just started to make it look pretty. I am actually low on money so i got this kit to get the most bang for my buck....i don't plan on using it often so as long as i pay attention to my bottle pressure i shouldn't lean out.

If you're trigger happy with nitrous....go for it. haha.
It's your motor, just hope you got money to drop another one in just in case.

It's not the bottle pressure (or lack of it) that'll make you run lean, it's the fact you're forcing more air into the motor without adding significant amount of extra fuel. This is why motors go boom, the pressure gets too high and the temperature gets to the point that pistons melt.
