I love our front end, much more so than the new styles actually. I like the boxy look, but I still do hate the grill

 

i love the look of the 02-03's. its much nicer, looks more aggressive, (except for the grill).
the 04's look to much like every other sedan on the road, esspecially the sunfire front, and the ugly back end.

As for evo stuff, personally i don't want my car to look like an evo, i really dont like the current conversion kits they have, if i had the money i would have an actual evo though. lol
I prefer the other style body kits that are out for the lancer

 

Why does the sun rise in the east and set in the west?

 

sometimes i look at it as, yeah, i'm a college student and i can definately not afford an evo with the budget i'm on, but love the way they look... putting a body kit on gets the effect done without the cost...

02'3 front is more aggressive, and alot more rally looking.

 

I say its a style thing. I love the look of the evo 8 wing. Mitsu just did an awesome job in finding a great wing for the evo. I would like that wing no matter what car I was in.
No one is saying "Damn those Celica bastards, just can't get enough of the evo can they?"

If I ever got an evo wing it would be because I liked the way it looks. Not because I want to be an evo, or look more like one, it would be coincidental my lancer just happens to look more like an evo with an evo wing.

PS-I know the srt4 is basically a neon, but nowhere on the car, in the engine, or in the manual does it say neon. It is just an SRT4.

 

The reason i got the evo kit and all is because in a car i get the best looking kit. to me the best is the evo conversion. If there was another one that looked alot better i would have gotten that one. I just got what i thought looked the best

 

i got my evo vii front because my stock bumper got messed up and it was cheaper to get the whole kit from a friend than it was to get the stock bumper through my insurance. that is all.

i do love it though, but i have never told anyone it was an evo, and i never will.

 

as was said. blacksheep said it well. I have a evo VIII wing, well because I love the look of the wing. I have a evo style hood, well because I want to let hot air out of the engine. I have a carbon fiber evo VIII trunk because the evo VIII trunk also fits the 02-03 lancers. I would drive a evo and they are one of my fav. but Im not exactly trying to make my car look like one. I get the "whoa, nice evo" all the time. Im quick to tell them. "No, its a Lancer." They look surprised and then tell me how much they love the "look".

My reaction to the debate on 02-03 vs. 04-up is the 02-03's are much boxier (which is the style I love). I don't like the fact that everyone is going to this rounded edge, every car looks the same bit. Some cars it works such as the 350z and the new BMW's but the new Lancers!?! No. ****opinion****

 

i dont even know what to say. a lot of good opinions though. i guess i'm just glad to see a recent thread not get closed.

 

That's because, for the most part, everybody is staying fairly well on topic. Nobody is getting pissy and fighting with each other yet, which always helps. Thanks for the replies. I just thought I would see what each person's reason was. They all make sense, and pretty much all look good. Keep up the good work guys.

 

Haha people say "wow nice evo" to me all the time, i just politely say "please, an astrovan is closer to an evo than this is"
