*raises hand*

*raises hand* f body kits leave that for last work on makeing it faster is what you need to be doing.right a body kit doesn't make you faster.it looks nice stock anyway.just lower it and put bigger rims.

What is all this talk about an EVO VII body kit being an expensive Type R sticker? Why does getting a body kit automatically equate someone as being a ricer? I personally find that term offensive. Would you call an African American driving a Lancer with the EVO VII kit a "N*gger"? How bout an Hispanic American, "beaner". What if a person finds the body lines of the Evolution VII to be more attractive then it's Cedia Lancer counterpart? I for one think that the chasis and the entire stylings of the Evolution to be a work of art and if I can replicate that look without the hefty price tag then I would. Sure the power isn't there and it may not be a true EVO but so what. To pay homage to a beautiful piece of machinery shows that the person is a true enthusiasts. If the person puts his/her time and effort into making the car look authentic then be supportive. Putting a Type R sticker on your ride requires no money, time or effort.

He's got a point. Why spend the cash this early on in the game on aesthetics? The Lancer has clean enough lines as to not necessitate buying a kit which you'll also have to get mounted and painted to simply make your car look fast.

Not everyone who tunes their ride are racers. Looking fast isn't the same as going fast. When it comes to the import scene there are two routes you can take, a SHOW car or a GO car or if you have money comming out of your a$$, you can have the best of both worlds. Some people concentrate solely on the exterior and interior looks and will put only a few modifications to the performance of the car (filter, exhaust, bolt-ons, etc.). Others will go for the sleeper look and concentrate under the hood. Yea the body kit will slow the OZ down but that wouldn't matter if you fall under the SHOW category. Thats the one I fall under. If your driving to draw attention then you'd be golden if your Diamond White OZ Lancer was decked out in a full fledged EVO VII kit with a shiny Tanabe Medallion exhaust sticking out of your bumper with an EVO VII rear spoiler blocking the person's periferal vision behind, rolling on 17" Raing Hart Concept Fives while sitting on a set of Sparco Torino seats. The above is the description my car, sans the seat, the front bumper and hood. Those are comming as soon I get paid.

Might I remind you that street racing is illegal in the state of California. I should know after getting countless tickets for exhibition of speed. Its all in the mind my friends. If a civic passes you up then good for him. It shouldn't bother you if your intent was not to race him in the first place. I really don't mind gettin' smoked but the real satisfaction is when you drive by the same car that passed you with the dude cuffed and faced down in his scorching hood as you roll by slowly obeying the law. I've out grown the street racing phase of my life. Being in two crippling accidents will do that to you. Have fun trying to get your daily ride to pass smog with 4G'z of mods under your hood. We all have our opinions, thats why this is called a forum. But I would appreciate others to refrain from using the racial terms such as "Ricers". The few bad apples in the bunch doesn't represent the entire population.

Personally...I don't expect to draw any attention in my car. If I wanted attention I'd have bought a used caddy and taken off my muffler. Regardless...I don't race and I don't care about showing off my car. I just want it to look nice in my own eyes and to drive like it has a little something under the hood. I think there's definitely a balance between looks and performance.

I more than welcome argument, but I don't think many people would really enjoy driving a fast car that couldn't turn a head every now and then either. Some may agree with me about the balance, others may not...Bottom line is...I don't care :P

NICE . . . . . You basically said what I wanted to convey but only in fewer words and straight to the point.
