Call me crazy but i need to know more about this JDM part

Hey guys, here in so-cal i have seen couple of honda guys with this a new part which is suppose to stop the static shocks. It hangs in the rear of the car and is always in contact with the road/ground which transfers the shock to the ground.

I know that there are other cheaper methods to avoid getting zapped from static shocks but the only thing i am curious is to see why this thing costs $150 and is hard to find.

Post pics/discuss if you have seen anything similar to this before.

You give us a vague idea and then ask US to post information? 99% of us have no f***ing clue what you're talking about.

Wow, no one has heard of this? They are very popular in the UK - when I was growing up, probably more than half of cars had them.

Nothing special - they merely keep the car grounded in order to stop static build-up. They are extremely tacky.

I just think it's odd that you posted that with minimal description and no pictures but wanted us to tell YOU what it was...

I wouldnt mind having something that does that. I get shocked ALL THE TIME in the winter when I get out of my car. But theres no way im paying $150 for it. They need a healthy dose of wake the f*ck up, if they think *smart* people will pay that kinda dough if thats its only function...

That's static electricity built up from your *** (and the fabric covering it) rubbing against the seat. Not much can be done about that.

I know Subaru offers static pads (little pad that goes on the door and is grounded to the metal) that you can touch to ground yourself. But I've never seen that from Mitsu... Maybe just make it a point to touch the car before you do anything else...

i'm the same way, but it kinda depends on where. getting zapped on the foot doesn't do it for me.

ummm why is this a "JDM" part anyway? or is it the honda ricers just calling **** JDM to saound cool. as far as they know JDM stands for Japanese Dumb MotherF*cker.

ugh. . . anyway on to the topic. . . its just a static wick. you want the cheap cheap version get a piece of bonding wire from radio shack and screw this thinkg into the chassis and let it dangle to the ground. thats all this thing your talking about does. . . whats the point in spending a butt load of dough on something you can make yourself? whats the world coming to?
