Lancer oz
Hi every one i am new here but my car isnt. Ive purchased my 02 oz rally from my stepdad that use to frequent on these forums. i just wanted to say hey and i had a couple of questions to get me started here and trust me ive searched so dont tell me other wise. How is the stage 2 intake from A2 designs? i am looking to purchase it and i was wondering wats up with it. I have a RRM piggy back and i wanted to get a AFC. I was looking at the Apexi NEO how do i know if its compatible with my car and with the piggy back. Ive checked out the zeitronix wideband and it didnt look like it would provide enough information for tuning. and it costs to much money to get so little. Thank you vey much and tell me how you like my lancer!
First off you need some educating. Piggy and AFC don't mix. There are lots of other mods to do first. Also Zeitronix is the best AFR and tuning system for the money. Maybe there is something there you did not understand. Regardless we can explain. Contact us if you like even if you are not ready to buy we can set you up on an upgrade path that will suite your budget. Ask for ROB

there are threads, but no reviews yet. I'll let you know if any pop up. And as rock stated, the piggyback and SAFC do almost the same thing, but with software, the piggyback can do much more. The zeitronix wideband is a must if you want to tune yourself. It has more things than piggyback and SAFC. Thats why it costs so much, which still isnt really that bad.
Ok thank yall for the info about the AFC unit I think i will spend a little more money to get that zetronix wide band. I have the piggy back software comming in tommorow. does that go hand and hand with the widebands computer software? I serached about the intake again still nothing... Any thing else i could be educated about?

Since the site labled the twin TB under mirage is it still compatible with my 02 lancer oz? If so which is better? That twin settup looks tight crypto

The twin setup isn't available for the lancer anymore, I'm waiting to get mine installed. But the twin your looking about is for the 1.5L mirage i think. I would go with just the stage 2. oh, twin is the stage 3, no longer listed for lancers.
You can always source your own Mirage 1.8l 4g93 intake mani and port it yourself using the gaskets as a guide... it's pretty easy. But for the money, the A2 designs set up is very good. Where in VA do you live, cause if you live in Northern VA join DCevoclub there's only a few regular lancer guys, myself included, but there are meets all the time.

Oh ok thanks Shingen ill check yall out but i might be too far away i sorta live on the middle penninsula. I am kinda unique here not too many lancers were i live i can count like 5..... I cant wait till my piggy back software comes in today! I have one other question for you people that know more about lancers than i do. Do i have to do any supporting modds when i change the cam shafts? if so wat? and what cams do you recomend?
Depending on what you have done and what you plan to do will determine what cams are best for your setup. NA and Turbo cams are different, however there are a few that will work for both. Depending on the gains you are expecting and what kind of level of tuning you are interested in getting yourself into will determine what cam you should get. I would also say to you that a cam swap is one of the more intense mods you can do... just be aware that there are more effective things, such as going turbo, that are more effective. I might as well ask: What are your current mods and what do you plan to do?
With your piggy back: like everyone has said, if you plan to tune yourself be sure that you get a good wideband. AEM and Zeitronix are good brands, don't skimp on this and learn what you need to do before hand. If you have a shop tune for you be sure you still get a widband because you will want to monitor your A/F ratios regardless. And I would add, check out the tuning forums for the lancer. There are many good write ups concerning tuning that you have to read.
