Look what Autoweek wrote
Sabotage was kind enough to pm this link to me... here's what says:
"Mitsubishi is still not confirming what it told employees at a recent internal meeting: The Lancer Evolution VII will be imported to the United States next year."

I was watching autoweek last night and they said that Mitsu will not admit to telling dealers in this country that the Evo will be here next year. The dealers are saying that they already got word, but now Mitsu of Japan wont confirm it.
Honestly, does it really matter which version?
I saw that too in my lastest mag.
Actually I would consider the striped down (RS) model. Then I could throw on huge after maket brakes and mod it with replacing less things. I would hope they would just bring both over and give us a choice, but I will not be picky.

Sometime next year, the Evo7 will be here for sale at way below 55k.
Prob around 30k or less.
Cant justify anymore than that, given the WRX pricing.

The UK importers sell the cars for less because they offer less of a warranty. They need to change only the lights, i think and do the various paperwork.
Emissions has never been a problem. Japanese emissions are the same as most of the US, except for CA. So, the cars will have full power except that the gas octane here is lower. With lower octane, the ecu retards the turbo boost and less power is generated.
You might see 260/270 hp if they tune it for 91 octane (as opposed to requiring 97 octane in Japan and 300+hp stock)
Yes, the Evos come with over 300hp stock.
Unless you are a millionaire, your 57k Evo6 will have to compete with a 30k Evo7 or Evo8 in a years time.
The Impreza STi will also prob cost around 30k in a year.
