Maybe you should narrow down what you want first. Do you want performance, exterior, interior, ICE?

If you have a 02-03 Lancer there is always blacking out your headlights. There's not much else without having to buy at least some materials.

Vague question gets a vague answer: Go do some stuff to your car.

As they said, give us something to work with...

It's so easy. Just don't turn the height adjuster like I did. It can be done in about an afternoon.

Im also a broke college student lol, I wanted to black out my ugly crome tails but I decided I could spare one of my weak paychecks on a pair of evo 8 carbon fiber tails from ebay (with blubs) 100 bucks + the 25 for shipping.

Other than that, lol you could hand clean everything under your hood, or just play around with small stuff like the grill, stuff in your trunk, maybe the color of your lights (if they're stock yellow). Be creative and do something NEW its all about having fun!

take out all of your audio, that should give you a little acceleration kick. but yeah, maybe just pic a few accent pieces in the engine bay to paint, or clean everything, that always looks good.

yeah. painting headlights is very easy. I was worried as well until i got goin at it and realized how easy it is. there is a how-to on it here. and lots of threads.

-Window tint mabey. Can get a full good job for around $200. didnt notice if you had tint or not. Would look great as well.
-paint calipers silver or something and paint drums black to clean them up.
-get a progress rear sway with autox perches. es doesnt even have sway bar so this would increase your handling drastically. Thats a little less then $300 I think.

Shave the car, if you have the knowledge and tools to do it.

Some cheap things if you havent done already:
Tint
Color match part of the car (underhood interior)
Any maintenance projects that in the process you could upgrade for better than OEM
Shorty antenna
Tasteful accent lighting (example i have neon in my trunk just 2 blue tubes provides more light and looks cool to me, in my truck i have strobes in my air vents for at shows)

Best idea look online at what others have done to their vehicles and dont just look at what people have done to their lancer's or other cars.

Best of luck on whatever projects you choose to do.

Shaving the trunk is a good idea, not sure about the rest (door handles, side markers, antenna). On a show car yes, on a street car, no. Tint is personal opinion, I had tint and eventually had it removed. Color matching and neons fall into the same category, some color matching projects look good, while IMO neons just look stupid.
