5-speed ---OR--- Automatic
Auto
prob would have gotten a manual if i knew how to drive one.
as for mods i'm looking at the RMR intake as my first one, very annoyed that i could through in an AEM COld air intake which would give more power because of the setup of the auto and how the transmission takes up so much room
after that prob exhaust and rims

funny thing. Manual, you save about 1.5K in price but on resale auto regains it back against manual. Most americans prefer auto.
When my car was killed, the insurance company settled on my car at 6 grand (includes all the knick knack price additions from the insurance company) for a car that was bought in Dec 98 and died on March 03 w/ a total of 78K mileage. The price I paid for a rare car. Luckily, I don't have the 1.5L . . . would have lost my shirt on the claims check.

Auto with RRM SRI, test pipe and axle back. Soon to come...wheels, sway bar and strut bar. After driving an S-10 5 speed for 6 1/2 years, decided to give myself a break from shifting a munual.
5speed here! have an auto 4wd T100 and I most definitely find the manual a hell of a lot more fun to drive in the city than the auto, as for driving offroad props go to the T100.
now only if I had an evo!
