yeah it looks like it is a better design, the rrm heatshield looks like it its on wrong i would think the shield should b on the engine side not the bottom, my next dilema with this intake is the money, i have a lil moral issue, im gonna have to borrow like 40 to 60 buks from my girlfriend and im gonna pay her back but i feel bad cuz she doesnt have a job i would b borrowing her birthday money so if she for some reason in a week needs money she wont have a income to use and she would have to wait for me to pay her back, it was all her idea to loan it to me so i think im gonna do it

RMR has no MAS adapter to funnel down air to makes a denser charge of air. It Just has a ring welded to heat sheild. RRMs actually has a velocity type stack in it. It is how it works. Simple.

In my opinion you won't go wrong either way. they are both great companies with great reputations. I have the rrm intake and I am quite happy with it. I have heard nothing but good things about both. I got my intake from RRM because I wanted to help support them because they have supported the lancer community. Also if you run into any install questions you can call them and they will help you gladly (that is a huge plus).

is that velocity stack thing somethin thats important...... you know the thing thats killin me is that rmr charges 160somethin for the intake and all it is, is a k&n filter, some sheet metal and a clamp i mean i know u pay for the technology and ur dealin with supply and demand with stuff like this but the prices get crazy sometimes

i thought about one from ebay but i want a known name that i know for sure its gonna be quality

I'd go with the Road/Race intake! I just ordered the cold air and they were very easy to deal with plus they research alot on our cars....

RRM all the way! Their SRI has a funneled MAS adapter that rams the air into the MAS, the RMR doesn't, and the heat shield that comes with the RRM blocks the hot air from the back side of the engine, that's how it was explained to me.
