Man, glad to hear you're alright! I can say with some confidence that that car is probably the worst wrecked/totaled Lancer I've seen on these boards. Hope insurance is good to you...

Glad you are alright, at least we can see Lancers are a safe car. Makes me feel better about being in an accident. I hope the insurance isnt being a pain! Good luck!

uhm ... if it aint big enough to stop your car then it wont set your airbags off... airbags work with speed sensors as well as bumper sensors... they only go off with extreme deceleration

very glad to see your ok ... i seriously think the lancer is under rated for safety

OMG are you freakin serious??? i take it that cause youre somewhat new here that you havent seen the countless number of evo wreck threads and the fact that in nearly every wreck, the spoiler remains un-touched. lol, i was just tryin to lighten the mood, lol.

but on another note...im glad to see youre ok.

Just to vouch for this i really feel like sharing my story. Definately not anywher near as serious as this, but the seatbelts as well as the car are definately the things that save lives for us Lancer drivers. Here are before and after of my old car:

I also came out with just bumps, bruises, and a dislocated thumb. Only major damage was moderate nerve damage in my chest that is permanent. But the paramedics said at the speed and angle of the hit, if i didnt have my seatbelt and if the car wasnt so safe, i wouldnt have survived.

Glad you're alright, considering. As for the Lancer's low crash rating, that's pretty much due to it doing so poorly on offset frontal collisions, which thankfully we haven't really seen much of on these boards. Based on what I've seen on these forums, Lancers do amazingly well in rollovers, seems just about everyone walks away from them.

Just thank god that you survived. The car is material things that can be replaced, but you only have 1 life.

I roled my civic a while ago with 4 people in the car, i swerved for a deer, did a 180 and flipped about 3 times. everyone was wearing there seat belt and walked away uninjured.

when your car Roles over your most likly to survive, Not saying that you will be ok everytime, but its alot safer then a head on collision with another car or hitting a telephone pole.

This just goes to show, Never get a convertabul. and always wear your seat belt!
