Find one that is a stick shift and lower miles if you can. I barely got that much money when I sold my OZ, and it only had 17000 miles on it. Of course, at the time here in AZ you could buy a brand new OZ for $14,000 anywhere.

The o2-03 Lancer are much nicer than the 04-07 models, maybe the prices are climbing a little bit. I disliked the trunk mount license plate and funny nose thing when the 04's came out. It grew on me a little but I think the OZ I had looked a little less Kia-ish...

for mods check out roadrace motorsports. That is where I got most of mine, and they have been working on those early US lancers since day one. I am posting too much today!

would i be able to find an evo for less than 15k? if so i think my dad would buy me that instead.

anyway, im trying to look for a new grill similar to that of an evo for a oz rally lancer. i dont really like the stock one. do they make them like that?

i agree with that.

absolutely get the stick shift. second gear is lil longer than neccesry and there is a dip in power around 3500-4000 rpm and those two things do effect the overall performance in a negative way.
but a host of bolt ons seriously wakes the car up and make for a much more satisfiying ride while still maintaing good gas mileage.
but you could definately find a better deal than that.

oh wow...so much mis-information here...please dont speak if you dont know the correct information.
-first, the cars have the exact same engine which equals same hp
-the oz comes with a front and rear lip as well as side skirts
-the oz has white face gauges, the es has black
-the oz comes with a few extra trim pieces on the interior
-oz comes with 15" 4x114.3 alloy wheels, the es comes with 14" 4x100 steel wheels with hub caps
-the oz comes with a small rear sway-bar, the es doesnt
-the oz has a slightly different front suspenson, nothing spectacular
-oz comes with color keyed door handles and mirrors, thats an option on the es

all i can think of for now. but this has been WELL covered MANY times so just search if you want to know. and ive had mine since june of 02 and i race and drive it hard regularly and have had no problems. as long as you take care of it, itll take care of you.

easy to work on, cheap to repair, and get good gas mileage.

Coming from a current OZ auto owner, you'll soon find yourself wanting more power. It's just the fact of having the inability of not shifting yourself that just makes it seem slower. In reality, the auto vs manual stock, auto will probably lose...

Anyways, that is for sure an OZ. Leather wrapped wheel and shifter! BTW, the spoiler was a $750 option in the OZ package. I've seen others w/o the spoiler.
