OZ Lancer.. first car maybe
hey everyone, im new to the forum and to Mitsubishi's as a whole. i received my drivers permit back in December and i have been looking for a good first car. i found an oz lancer on autotrader.com going for about 8500. here it is: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...g=1&cardist=24
is it a good deal for a 2002? are the 2002's reliable?
also, tell me anything about that car that i might not have known by looking at that website. thanks

my first car was an 02 OZ Lancer, i got mine for $8,000 with 44,000 miles on it (which was a great deal)
so far I havent had any problems with my car at all.
the OZ you've found looks really clean and the only thing Im curious to know is why it doesn't have the OZ Rally Wing on it?
besides that it looks like a good deal.

Yup, they're great cars, just dont expect alot of speed, just a really awesome stylish look. Nice color too.
But im sure you can haggle the price down too, $8500 is fair but you can haggle it a bit down for your benefit.

since the OZ is the only version Ive owned I really dont know everything that differentiates the models but from what I do know is that the OZ has more horsepower stock than the ES and it does come with OZ Rally rims, it has the OZ rally body kit on it, like the one your looking at, has the colored dash, the OZ has a different Gauge cluster than the es, and it also comes with the interior that you see in the one you are looking at. it would be pretty difficult to convert an es to look like an OZ model.
And no, no horsepower differences at all. The Ralliart is faster than the ES/LS/OZ.

If you get it and want a nice front end conversion, i'll trade ya my VII conversion for the stock bumper and hood. Just a trade, or we can work something out, depending on the situation. I just really want to go back to stock haha.
yeah! id love to do that. what brand is your kit? what color?
what are you lookin for in a car? are you lookin to do mods, or just keep it stock? a point a to point b ride? lookin for performance in the given price range or just reliability.
what would you suggest for performance? id like to do mods as i have worked on many cars in the past. my dad doesnt want to spend a lot on a car for me which is how i ended up looking at the 8500 dollar lancer.
cant say i feel thats a real good price though. a lil steep on the milage for 8500.
i'd say keep lookin. you might be able to find a better deal.
i bought mine for 9500 with 20 some thousand miles 2 years ago. keep lookin.
