The sincerest form of flatery?

I want to here some people's opinions on this. Cause I know myself and others get very annoyed when you see a Honda Civic DX with a Type R sticker on it. Are some of you setting a double standard though? Because while cruising through our member galleries I've seen some stupid STUPID **** on some members cars.

Just because you have RalliArt seatbelt covers doesn't mean you should have a ralliart sticker on your car. Tire stickers, so you mean if you got a set of yoko's now you're never gonna switch brands? I've even been so appauled to see things like GTR and SiR on the back of Lancers. A trend I'm seeing lately that is getting depressing is the increased number of Lancers(non evo) with Evolution decals.

I'm just curious how other people feel about this? Cause I think it's pretty retarded. I'd especially like to get the points of view from some EVO owners on the deal, are you flattered or annoyed?

I see your point, its just false advertising. Well, false advertising to those who don't really know. I have no problem with decals of brands of mods you have, just the Type R badges and things like that. Especially when you see Type R badges on domestics, those kill me. In the end it comes down to whatever floats your boat i guess.

To each his own.
If they want to look clueless it's on them.

Their cars, their looking stupid/cool (depending upon whose eyes). Chances are you're not going to talk people into removing decals or the likes. Nothing you can do about it aside from complain, so why not just let it be?

EDIT: Btw, it's said immitation is the most sincere form of flattery. Is that what you were alluding to in the thread title?

This kind of stuff doesn't really bother me but I find it humorous at times. For example, on some civic hatchback I saw a while ago it had a sticker that read "Type-R Type-S." This is one sticker. I guess the guy had to show that his car was both Type S and Type R

It's best to keep all bases covered.

The idea of decals doesn't really matter to me. If people want to pretend they have something that they don't have i say let it be. It doesn't hurt anybody. Those that know can point and laugh and those that don't probably really dont care. So i say let them do what they want they're the ones looking foolish.

Hey, I had a big ol' GT-R emblem on my old Accord, it fit perfectly in the front grill and looked pretty good, I might add.

I did it simply to show that I had a rusty beat up 12 year old Accord.

I hate seeing stupid things on cars, especially nice ones, but things will happen. I guess the trees that survive the storm bend with the wind, those that stand firm will crack.

Moral: You can't change anyone's perspective. Just go with the flow.

I just wonder what people are thinking when they decide on it? Do they honestly think they are fooling someone? Or even worse could someone actually be fooled by it?!?

this whole thing does not bother me, i guess it is a reflection of your work or somthing like that, i mean people who put stickers on the car with out those mods are usally the people who run dryer duct piping for intakes and **** like that. It is mearly a reflection of what your car is worth to you, i mean you can save the $ and do things right or you can have a half *** chop job.
