2008 Mitsubishi Lancer released in Canada

Hi Guys,

I don't know if this has been posted yet but on the Canadian Mitsubishi website the new Lancer is shown along with the pricing and from the looks of it it's not that much more expensive than the outgoing model, base models differ at around $500-600 Canadian dollars

I see the ES and GTS both come in Electric Blue similar to Rally Blue by Subaru.

Hmm... the GTS has no hp / torque gains?
Plus all manual transmission, interesting... guess they have focused on a smaller customer population.

I don't think the features chart is correct. It lists them all as having 4-wheel disc brakes, which according to the recent review is wrong.

The US pricing will be a bit different than Canadian as there will be a bitdifferent specification details. The base 2008 Canadian Lancer is about $500 Canadian dollars more expensive than the 2006 version ($1 US dollar = $0.85 Canadian dollars so that gives a difference of about $425 US dollars).

I think the US lancer will be a bit cheaper, especially the base version, considering that all Canadian models get 4 wheel disc brakes and our base will get rear drums. I guess weather in Canada is a bit more harsh than here in USA so they offer 4 disc brakes all around the board but at the same time the base version is more expensive, plus the destination charge is always less expensive in USA.

Anyway, considering the amount of improvement from the previous generation to the latest, the price difference is well worth the improvements. I think Mitsu will sell plenty of these.

Yeah the price increase isn't bad from the 06 lancer considering all the new features and more power for the base lancer.
As far as the price diference between CAN and US well cars cost more in CAN. Just to give you an example:
WRX STI price In Canada: *Starting from: $48,995 CAND = $42,272.92 USD

WRX STI price In US: *Starting at $33,495 USD = $38,823.49 CAD

So a difference of $8,777 USD

* Does not include destination and delivery charge.

Canada sucks when it comes to car prices.
