Hi (new member)

Hi,

I'm Jeff from Toronto, Canada. YES!!! the SARS capital of North America! (Jokes).

I just bought a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer OZ Rally Edition in Yellow yesterday. I got a free indash 6 cd player because I sweet talked the girl that was selling it at Cooksville Mitsubishi.

I have to be honest. It's been my 5 yr dream to own a Mitsubishi Eclipse GST or GSX. But living in Canada they never had Mitsi here until last september. So only the new models came. ANYWAYS I found a place down the road that imported the old style Eclipse and was literally going to deposit $1000 on one when I found out from 5 people that they buy non-branded accident Eclipses, fix them and then sell them for an arm and leg. Either that or roll back the Odometer. So I said f*ck it, drove to a dealership and bought a OZ Lancer.

The Mods will be quick and painless. And seeing I have a lot of money left since I didn't buy the Eclipse, I'll be adding some new OZ rims (17 or 18) and lowering it ASAP, with some Teins. After that I'm going to hook up a Kenstyle Body kit, RRM Turbo Kit (intercooled) and Greddy Exhaust and AEM intake.

Nice to meet you all.

Congrats on your car and welcome. I just got my 2003 Lancer OZ a few weeks ago as well. Almost the same situation with you too... I found a GSX, also a car that I have wanted for awhile... seeing as not many around me have them and I was about to drop $21,000 on a used one with only 30,000 miles on it! It was heavily modded already.

But when I thought about it the Lancer was way cheaper and new... plus the Lancer has more room in the cabin and I see it becoming a great base for future upgrading. I didn't want to get a used car that someone had already suped up... Takes the fun of figuring things out and there is a "what kind of car is that," thing still out there. My friend thought I was driving a Jetta for a while... I guess the side silhouette is kinda the same, maybe if you tilt your head, jump up and down and squint your eyes...

Anyhow, welcome. The people on these boards are really great; I have found nothing but intelligent, well thought out discussions and topics here. There are the occasional trolls and civic ****** but they liven up the place. And I have found topics on every question I have had, I hardly have to post...

Welcome to the family. Yes, OZ's are nice cars. You'll have fun upgrading it. However, the OZ's is no GS-T and definately not a GSX by any means but is a good base line to start a project car so I'm hoping you don't expect to get a GS-T/GSX performance out of a Lancer but it still is a pretty good alternative. Have fun with your new .

Well I'm hoping an RRM turbo kit, AEM intake and Greddy will change the performance alot, failing that I'm sure they're will be pulleys, forged pistons etc coming in the not to distant future.

I don't expect to beat any supra by any means, but to build a high-performance, excellent handling Lancer would be ideal.

If the some Hondas can go out and beat cars with serious mods, and eventually over time we have those same options, then I'm sure the Lancer Cedia will be a hot rival for any car on the street, except those hardcore Evo, STI, Supra and Muscle Car Heads.

Keep in mind though, that those same Hondas don't have the same Honda engine that come stock. That's why they can outperform other cars that they would've never had a shot against with the stock engine. Case-in-point, an h22a motor provides 200 whp. Until we can successfully transplant the MIVEC engine from the Ralli///Art Lancer, or source other engines for our Lancer, it's gonna be tough. But then again, turbocharging up to about 200 whp isn't too shabby.

Welcome to the forum, BTW.

trust with an RRM turbo kit and other RRM parts backing you the lancer can become a force to be reckoned with. With many tricks left to pull out of the lancer there is going to be some drooling and totally shocked people out there when your done. Good luck on the mods!
