installing pulley myself? que?

How hard is it to install the RRM crank pulley yourself? what special tools would you need if any. I am planning to get it this weekend along with other goodies but i want to try to save cost by installing it myself. I have some mechanical skill but not really confident in doing this. The install cost almost asmuch as the pulley itself!!!! eh, i might just leave it i nto the hands of RRM. help me felllas!

You better have an air-powered impact wrench. I tried to use a borrowed battery-powered impact that was supposed to be good for 200ft/lbs. but it wouldn't budge. I think the battery-powered wrench was overrated. It's a bit of a pain in the neck to get to, but not as bad as the rear engine mount. It's not all that technical to install it's just pulling out a lot of plastic fasteners (that ofter break) in the passenger side wheel well. Then it's just knowing how to remove the belts. I think there's a how to on here for belts. Do a search, it's not a difficult install if you have a strong enough wrench and know how to get the belts off.

I installed it with my cousin who had an impact wrench. And we had to heat the bolt up to get it to budge even with the impact wrench. So depends what tools you have.

Just have RRM do it. You'll be happy and safer knowing an expert handled it.

When myself and a friend installed one of these on his OZ, we ran into the same issues. A 200 ft/lb impact wrench won't cut it. You really need a pneumatic one that can do 600 ft/lbs. We were able to get it off with a really large breaker bar and leaving the car in first with the foot on the brake, but that's more stressful on the bolt and I wouldn't recommend it.

I can't give any real numbers, but it feels good. I've got the pulley, Injen intake, NGK Iridium plugs, Magencor Wires, RRM pulley and RRM motor mounts. It's a lot of fun on the road. I don't know if it'd be any good against some of the newer vehicles, but that's not what I built it for. The only minor annoyance was the shaking from the motor due to the mounts, but half the time, I enjoy that too. It may be less of an issue when I get the struts changed. Right now with the bad struts adding to the shakes, it's a whole lot of shaking going on. But anyways, back to the pulley. Yes, I could definitely feel the difference.
