The blue thingy goes into the power supply. Its what gives the headlights power.

not to sound so newbish...but doesn't the 03 evo's already come with hid's? coz mine sure looks like hid's, and if so i guess these would be just upgrades and better brightness on the lights? also, if i'm getting these, would they just be plug and play? i mean, i just take of the old hid and plug these in?

whoops..sorry looks like i posted on the lancer thread...nevertheless, maybe you guys can help.

im not sure if this was mentioned but at a certain number (I forget what it is) the hid bulbs get dimmer but get more vibrant in color. starts turning purple. 6000k would be the best choice. Unless they are bi-xenon you will lose your high beams. W/o correctly retro-fitting projectors in the glare will be nuts.

well i contacted the company and this is what they told me as far as not having a high beam anymore after the install of the kit

hi sorry yes because for hid ,they don't have dual filiment like the halogen bulb ,and they are for low beam only ,but when you have hid ,you will no longer need your high beam ,thankyou

but i am 110% satified with my kit looks great will post pics when i get off work.

Nice find Army, this seems to be a good choice for someone who is budget conscious but still wants a somewhat well regarded vendor. I would really like to see some pics at night, as well as the glare if you could manage

I thought the 03s was the only year to come with HIDs standard then after became an option. One of my buddies has a 03 GSR with no SSL but still has OEM HIDs and no he didnt put them in after he bought the car.

Glare is not that bad but ill let you guys be the judge.

The glare on mine isent bad at all just at certain angles, but i have to admit it brightens up the roads so good. very clear and mine has more blue in it but from a distance it looks white up close it looks blue but its a great blend. ill try and post pics when i have time.

Its blue up close and when you are in the car you can see a mixture of blue and white blended together more blue, from a distance it is bright but you do not see any blue hardly. Trust me you will be satified if you get the 8000k bulbs.
