HID kit off Ebay hmmmm???
Just f.y.i. All factory systems (ALL) use 4300k bulbs for maximum lumens output. If you *think* BMW's, Audi's, Mercs are blue/purple, it's because the colorband at the cutoff shield of their projectors is causing a slight distortion in the color. Some older cars with HIDs project a blue/purplish because their bulbs have colorshifted to higher temperatures. So there's your baseline in terms of color/performance.
Aftermarket HID kits do not have a standard gauge of temperature. What one vendor calls 6000k, another vendor may call 8000k. So keep that in mind.

Where did you buy the kit from??? and how did you install it
hey I just installed the HID's myself and I have a few questions/problems:
1. they only work when I turn on the high beams
2. when I stop the car at a stop light it shakes and sounds like its gonna die, the rpms go below 1000 as well but manages to not die.
did I do something wrong? or how can I help this?

If the lights only turn on when you click the high beams it means you tapped the wrong wire...since our cars have a 9007 bulb, that has both high and low, you need top the low beam wire.
The ground/3rd wire will not change, its the hot wire you have to change
Not sure about your other problem unless somehow it's connected to the bad wiring job...it's possible you moved something else when you were mounting it
double check your work or worst comes to worst just unplug the whole kit, and try your car then

So I'm new to the HIDs. I've been browsing on Ebay and found many different kits costing anywhere from $30 to $120 before shipping. Does it really matter because all of the kits look like they come with the same equipment?
