I still think Mitsubishi should've developed different power outputs at different levels. I mean, GT-S Sports Tuned is what they're calling it.

I don't see anything more tuned other than suspension/brakes. Nothing engine-wise anyway.

IMO, something sports tuned is something faster.

Improved handling will mean it will be faster on a racing circuit.

well i was talking to the guy at the dealership about the car, he looked like some new guy because i havnt seen him there before, but i asked him about the engine and such yadda yada and i mentioned the RA and the EVO he said they wont be getting the evo in until the fall and the RA hes not to sure of but i asked him if the RA was really going to be base turbo and he said yes the RA will come with a turbo. as far as the hp is concerned he couldnt give me a number on that...but dont forget THIS one is only the GTS soo there might be some differences in the RA when it hits the dealerships as far as interior goes.

edit: that GTS model has a 2.0 and the RA will be a 2.4 with a stock turbo...atleast thats what the guy said and if this is true then theyd have to make the evo engine bigger because the evos now have a turbod 2.0 and if the new RA's are turbod 2.4s well then idk

Here on Rt.1&9 in Rahway, NJ Bell Mitsubishi already has a nice variety of 2008 Lancers, they had 3 fully decked out GTS for over $22,000 each, I especially liked the rally red one and graphite gray, those colors looks beautiful on the new Lancer, it also looks very good in black (they have 2 ES blacks), all in all I think I counted about 10 new Lancers of different variety.

On Rt.22, Global Mitsubishi of North Plainfield also has at least 10 new Lancers but most of them are of DE variety (they had one ES in electric blue color and that is one color that I just cant get used to, looks kind of weird), they don't have any GTSs yet. Anyway, all in all the new Lancer to me seems like a huge improvement aesthetically over the last generation, interiorwise I think it also has improved although it's just a nice simple dash layout, driver centric. Inside is definately larger than the last generation, especially the backseat, there is more leg room, but the car doesn't look that much bigger on the outside than the last generation mostly due to sleek angles. Trunk space is about the same although the new Lancers trunk is higher, offers more vertical space. The rear of the car is pretty high, side profile is very nice, and the front of the car definately looks a whole lot better in person then on any pictures I have seen so far. Rear also looks better in real life.

4B11 is the new engine for all the new lancers including the Evo. If the RA is a 2.4 it will not be a 4B11 so im pretty sure the sales guy doesnt know what hes talking about. 4B11 = regular lancers, 4B11-T = Turbo RA and Evo X. Also im pretty sure the Evo and RA will have paddle shifters since the GTS has paddles.

Ralliart and Evo will be 2.0 L engines, 4B11T, not 2.4L. Not sure if the Ralliart will have the option of an automatic, but the Evo will have a OPTIONAL "auto" with paddle shifters, otherwise you can get a 6 speed. As for the comments about power, Mitsu will have different power options for the Lancers, just that right now only 1 of those 3 options is out.

I just got back from the Denver auto show. It was the first time I have seen one personally and it was not bad.

Stupidly they actually had it roped off so I could not check out the interior.
I was able to sit in Astons and Porsche 997s but not in the Lancer -- really cracked me up. What is Mitsubishi thinking?

That has got to be one of the best-looking cars I've seen (except for the over 35k cars). I even like it better than the evo (sort of over-the-top, especially for someone approching the dreaded 4-0 in a couple years). I've been going back and forth between the new wrx and ralliart. Well, it sounds like the wrx is gonna be a hatchback with the same power output. I just hope the ralliart will have some subtle differences and be priced reasonable and I'll be all over it in a year or two...

To those who bashed on the interior, u have to actually see it in person before making such comments. This so far, the best Lancer to date.

They are only bashing it because it's better than their old Lancer.
