Well, not tough but when I turn the temp knob from cold to hot and vise versa, it takes quite a bit of force turning it through the middle of the temperature, if that makes sense.

For instance, every knob i've turned in different cars it turns with ease, but this is boggling my mind. Does anyone else have this problem? Is it suppose to be like that?

It's a known problem. Some Lancers even have a factory recall for it (check with your dealer).
