Exclamation Help with My Car

Hi, Im going to Japan to study in 3 months and I just bought a Lancer. I reside in Southern California. Does anyone know anyone willing to take over the payments?

2002 OZ Rally.
Automatic. Stock Custom Leather Interior(the yellow and black one with the words lancer etched into the seat. Sunroof. Installed at the dealer. I got the car for $25,000 with a 2,500 down payment. My terms are 8.9% APR for 6 years @ $376 a month. I've made 7 payments already and the payoff now is around 18,000 - 19,000. I've posted in Autotrader and I have gotten one call so far. But once they heard that I still need 18,800 or around there for payoff they hung up. Am I able to see the car within 3 months? The blue book cost is really low. And another problem is that I have driven the car 15,000 miles already due to job interviews and my jobs that I do find are always around 30 miles one way. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do? OR does anyone know anyone that would be interested in my car? Its if u can make the payments, the car is yours. Everything is stock. I don't want to part with the car but... I have no choice. Someone help?

Do you know that an OZ Lancer is 15k-16k MSRP? I just can't comprehend how the dealership got you to pay 10k over msrp. Did they tell you that it was an EVO or something? Please explain how you ended up with this deal.

Yup, for the leather seats they charged me 2k. and for the sunroof they charged me 1k. with my downpayment of 2500 it came to 25k out the door. Oh welz. I couldnt get into the 0 0 0 my score was only 680 at that time. And it was new credit. And now if i go back, my sales rep retired. I like mitsubishi and all but... damn.... don't really like the service that I got and that dealership. Nopez. I knew at the time was evo was. The base price before the evo came out was... it think 18 msrp. With about i think 1k tax, umm... destination.. and all that stuff. Then I saw the seats and added that. 2k. 20k. there. then i wanted a sunroof. 1k there. so 21k. then i had a downpayment. which was 2500. which is 22.5k and i forgot what else they said and the total was 25k.

I think you're gonna have to take a big loss on that dude... Sorry to say, but you're offering a pretty bad financing deal for $18000 to get a used OZ Lancer, when I paid just over 18k for mine in January with exactly what I wanted and all taxes/registration built in.

There's no way you'll convince someone to take over payments - you'll have to buy out the loan and sell it cheaper.

How come in your calculations your downpayment gets added to your total instead of subtracted? Thats shady! Or am I reading that wrong?

I guess Im screwed then. If I could manage to bring it down to around 16k left to pay off. Would that be a better chance for someone to take interest in the car? or would it be lower? On autotrader dealers were selling used 2nd Hand OZ's for about 14k.(highest).
Yup it was added. I didn't fully realize until i got home with my car. When i found out and went back, my sales rep "retired" along with the parts manager. So I had no sales rep to talk to and when I talked to financing, all they said was, its already signed(Contract) and they can't change it.

** Thanks everyone for replying to this post. I got the idea on how bad i got ripped off and a basic idea on what I can and can't do for selling my car. But then again. once i come back from japan. I'm still gonna go for Hopefully I'll save enough for an evo. Still dont know if I can import one or not. I think its $800 for overseas shipping. Not sure yet.

I guess you didn't know that even after you sign the paper work you have like 3 days to cancel the deal.
Plus regardless of the contract, they added your deposit to the price of the car and that is illegal. They stole your money so report them to BBB and everyone else and sue them. It's fraud and you can get more back in a suit then they stole.

hmm. i guess lemme go home and relook at my contract. I wonder if they would make mistakes visible on the contract.
