No the car was locked up and I took a bunch of thing out of the car before I left it. I did talk to the parents of the kids last night and they said they would pay for all the damage but we'll see. And I though of the idea of telling the cops that they took the car for a joy ride and curbed it in class today lol. I told the cops that the car was not moveable when they came, so they wouldnt belive me.

Wow... that a rough story... Curbed my lancer with only around 6000 miles on it (rainy day, cut off by... well anyone in El Paso knows already). Had to wait in the rain for an hour before the tow truck and police showed up (police had to come otherwise couldn’t make a claim)... My insurance covered it, it was almost around $6000? but I took the curb pretty fast, and when it went over the driver side tire got stuck in a rut that whipped the car really roughly over the curb,. My driver side tire was actually in contact with the back of the wheel well both rims gone, all the underside shielding, suspension system was a total do over... no main frame damage otherwise it would have been considered totaled by my insurance. Yours looks allot better than mine did.... funny though, the body was completely fine on mine. Wont ever be able to sell it now... *sigh*

The bent/bend on the control arm...is that where the rim made contact with it? Didn't someone find an aftermarket solution with using Energy Susp. bushings and all? Might looking getting those, since they'll need replacing anyways!

Wow, that is a pretty harsh curb hit. I ran over one on low profile (20) tires and only got a small dent that you can barely see. That is one bad day man, that would probably ruin my whole week, at least.

I had something like that happen to me in a blizzard. I had my rim, control arm, wheel bearing etc broken, and maybe some other things can't remember. Cost me about $1000. I couldn't believe it, these things are made to crumble

sorry to hear it though. At least you've got a good story!

Wow... you guys got nailed. I almost curbed the lancer before while taking a corner too fast. It became apparent how much understeer a stock lancer really has when it happened. I had the wheel basically locked all the way left, yet the car was just going straight... I managed to brake enough for the car to finally take the corner, but not before being within inches of the curb. I've upgraded the suspension, wheels, etc... on the car this winter, but now I'm too afraid to damage anything so I end up driving really slowwww :P

Update: I was taking off the lower control arm and I noticed the axle was bent so I spent a week finding another one. But now my car is back on the road again , minus one working stereo
