NYC Insurance rates are ridiculous.

My brother whos 25. Has a GTi VR6..by the way that ***** can move like all hell...anyway...

He tried to put the insurance under his own name....in NY...it would of costed him...

$7000!!!!!!!!!!! A YEAR!!!!!!!

...now he tired my mom's name and his name as Secondary...

$5000!!!!!!!!!!!

...so now hes NO where on the insurance....and its now $2000 a year.

And in NY $2000 a year is considering REALLY cheap.

a month into gettin his car he hit a giantic classic NYC pothole...he tore out his whole oiltank....engine sucked in particles and dust and ****ed up the pistons...my mom had to play it off like she was in the middle of Brooklyn at 2am in a bad *** neighborhood driving home!...

...just to give you guys an idea of how bad insurance is in NY...

I remember hearing that NJ has the highest rates in the country.

I can speak for NY. If you ever wonder why our rates are sooo high, try driving in Manhattan. Even out side Manhattan, like Bk and Queens, the streets are crowded with crazy drivers and tons of cars.

I was in Manhattan, Time Square for the 2002 new years thing. Very awsome city by the way, anyway, almost all the cabs have these huge bush bumpers and they seem to use them too. I think I can understand why the insurance is so high.

Learn to save

Hey guys. I bought an Oz last month and got it for 16000 flat. I think that was a good deal. Well anyway I live at home but I saved and studied for 6 months on what car to buy. During those 6 months I saved up about 5000 for a down payment when I found out that it was 0 down 0 interest 0 payments till 2003. So my play is to save every penny till 2003 and pay the thing off in full. I have to sell my truck of coars. but I will be there by december. If you guys know anyone who wants an 89 toyota pickup just e-mail me or IM me whatever. SAVE SAVE SAVE!

Look at it this way. When your finished with school and have a decent paying job you may be able to get your hands on a used Evo 7. Like many other really nice cars they will be out there, just have to find one thats been well taken care of.

With all these new NYC Racing laws...I'll probably find 100's at police auctions!...lol if you race here its considering "reckless driving" and they can legally take your car away and not give it back at all.

the movie Fast and Furious was based (well the idea of it, that movie was really off the wall with the amount of cars that show up to the races)
...anyway it was based on Francis Lew Blvd. in Queens.

It's about the longest blvd in queens...and basicly...theres a few spots that come close to 3/4 of a mile that are a straight stretch with no lights....

so i cant wait to see evo's popping up on the blvd...and im gonna stay there till some kid gets his taken away..follow the tow truck and buy it on the spot!...lol

Well, not really sure if thats where it was based at or not. You should take a trip out here to Cali. They have races like that every weekend...there are always plenty of spot w/ no stop lights. Good fun! Well that is until the cops do show up....then its exactly like the movie...scatter like ants! Happy Racing!

I have to say your economics teacher is a moron..... There are good deals on cars, you just have to learn to haggle with dealers..... Have you seen the mark up on a diamond ring??? That is insane, for a little F*#king rock you want 5,000 that sh*t is crazy...... I think your economics teacher drives an old Honda and is just too cheap to dish out money on a new car.... Call him a loser for me
