08 Lancer Parts Updates

Thought maybe it would be a good idea to start a parts list for the 08's instead of constantly looking everywhere for info. I have contacted a couple places myself has anyone else heard anything? Maybe put the date of when you heard things so people know if its old news.

Injen - Have cold air intake and exhaust system due out late july early august (exhaust to be header back system w/cat converter) (June 25th)

Road Race - Turbo Kit Sept/Oct of this year (June 20)

Any reason you skipped all the mods avilable through RRM and Works at this point?

If you mean for the 02-07, why post in a thread about 08s?

If you mean for the 08s, it's not available yet.

I meant for the 08s. That's what we are talking about right? You are just out to get me blacksheep, and give me another 5point violation. I see right through your little tricks.

Anyhow, Works hasn't released it yet so there's nothing to say. The only product Works has readily available as of this minute is their springs.

because everyone knows road race, i want to know whats in R&D for our cars from other makers. Some people want more option then just RRM especially if i can get a header-back exhaust from injen when RRM only has axle back..

I agree with Ground, I want to see other products from other manufacturers. I'm sure RRM is good product and sounds like they put alot into it. But I know from experience, sometimes its good to have other brands, someone might make a part better then others. Last I heard on the Injen is that the cold air intake was a 2 peice kit and featured their Mega Ram technology. Haven't heard back from other companies I inquired about.

I took a quick look under the GTS while I was at the dealership... I really don't think you'll get much of anything from a cat back. axle back you would get a decent weight savings from that big ole pancake muffler

after intake, header, cams, header.. then a FULL exhuast.. but honestly I think a cat back would be a bit of a waste.

unless ofcourse you were going turbo..

but yeah it would be nice to have a listing of ALL the available things and those upcoming .. RRM and works seem to do a good job of informing the board themselves of whats ready and whats coming down the pipe

Very true.

Unfortunately, 90% of the people begging for a full catback have no clue what they're talking about. They just think "CB must be better than AB because it costs more!" I call that riceritis...

Cat Back Not Needed

I had a chance to get my GTS up on a lift and there does seem to be very little use for a full catback. The axle back will give a bit more and the best part will be the weight savings. I am hoping Greddy and Tanable also come with products that are all SS. I don't like the idea of a new exhaust showing rust, like in some pics I have seen so far. Hopefully Works will come out with a quality SS exhaust when they do finish theirs up.

yeah... fortunately this isn't the 80's or 90's .. 4cyl cars don't come with pea shooter 1 5/8 exhausts anymore .. where a 2.25 pipe and a nice mufflere gave good gains... now most even remotely sporty 4cyls have good flowing cats, 2.25 inch pipes though they still have restrictive mufflers to keep the general populous happy and teh cars quiet.. so with axle backs we can pick up 5-7 hp and a little grumbly sounding cars

ofocurse I'm only talking of cars that matter in this discussion, aka moderate sporty 4cyl N/A cars..
