.......right????

It's just a steel rod......how bad could it screw my car up because it's not name brand and $100 more? Who is to say it could work out perfectly.

I'm talking about short throw shifters.

I'm sure all of them work, just make sure you read the writeup in the How-Tos forum. Tell us how it works out for you

I got a actual name brand one off here for $40 brand new with a shift knob...I would either wait till someone else has a part out or something. But if you do get it an ebay brand tell us how much better it is

It was my first mod four years ago and I love it. Do yourself a favor though get some base and underhood bushings while your at it makes all the difference.

You'll have trouble fitting the stock one on there. I got mine to fit after forcing it on... but just get an aftermarket one while your at it. At the end of the day you're still way less than the cost of a B&M short shifter or other brand.

with ebay it's kind of hit or miss... when my friend had his tiburon his girlfriend bought him a shifter and the thing was nowhere close to fitting. when she got him another one it fit... but made shifting a real PITA since the part was such a colossal POS.

buying car parts off ebay is like playing the lottery. you'll hit big and get something decent or you'll lose and get a broke-*** POS part. usually the latter.

I agree there are alot of great parts to be had on ebay. However with the short shifter. I remember reading a while back someone bought one for their lancer and it was too heavy so it wouldn't return back to center properly. I dont know if that issue has been rectified.

I go with the second one because the seller has a higher rating... which means nothing because most likely the two shifters are excatly the same. By the way be sure to follow the install guide in the how to section and buy the greese they tell you to get.

you do know that you will need to re-use the plastic "cup" on the stock shifter as well as the little plastic endlinks that go on the ends... the only way to get the "cup" off your stock shifter is to CUT it.
