RMR Questions
hey guys. This is a kick *** board we got here, just discovered it today. I plan on browsing the archives tonight, but i dont have much time now.
Heres my question
i bought an oz rally lancer about a month ago and when i went to mitsu the other day i saw the RMR intake and exhaust on a lancer there. I got the prices for the intake, exhaust and strut bar for 690 (including installation). I saw some people have these mods and i was seeing if they were a good investment. I really want to get an intake and exhaust and this price was good. I looked on their site but nothing was of much help. Any input would be nice. Any other mods people have done that help the horse and toruqe?
i plan on posting a lot more so cya around
thanks

the RMR exhaust causes your bumper paint to melt...i dont recommend it..

i've heard great things about their exhaust and its a complete bolt on.

Uuuuh, no. My paint has not melting in 2000 miles, including a trip to Las Vegas this weekend, going insanely fast speeds and probably gettin' pretty hot.
I thought the isolated incident was when someone racked their their piping somehow and the tip was actually _touching_ the paint... no? Not that I care, but I'm sure the guys at RMR at least appreciate a fair shake.
FWIW - I love my RMR stuff and it's a very nice performance boost, which is why I've been on here defending the torquey little Lancer... it's fun as hell, especially with some goodies strapped on. The intake is essentially the RRM one with a heat shield and the exhaust--while maybe appearing a tad ricey at 3"-definitely doesn't sound like a can until it's opened up and then it really sounds throaty.

melted pint
I will put that rumor to rest... an exhaust hanger was bent during shipping and the dealer did not notice it until the guy can back with tip touching the OZ bumper. the bent hanger caused the whole exhaust to be pushed over to one side. We over-nighted them a new exhaust that day and the dealer re-painted the OZ bumper. I just want the record to be straight this is one insident that we didn't have control over. (Sorry for the harsh tone, we have taken a lot of calls with stupid people thinking that every exhaust will light their car on fire) Thats it... good night.

Blair
Blair, same thing happened to me, except the dealer installed it stupidly...
They paid for the body work and cleaning of the tail pipe.
Now I havent had a problem for 7500mi.
I have all 3 pieces and can't complain about any of them.
And if your Mitsubishi dealer carries and installs the stuff, they are endorsing it...
name some other manufacturers that do the same, and you will come up wit a list of other very reputable aftermarket companies that RMR has joined.
Quality stuff guys... just put out the suspension kit already!

USE MY CAR FOR TESTING!!!!
no seriously, since RMR and RRM are both in SoCal, One of ya'll might as well move to Denver, it's the new west right? Then hire me as store manager
Blair, is Mitsu looking at a 2003 change to the OZ or general Lancer line, and if they will be adding or changing models at all, have you guys heard anything? aside from Evo announcements

honestly
I haven't heard anything... Actually I have heard that in 2004 they are releasing a 1.6L motor for the base model ES & LS. Maybe they will up the HP of the 2.0L at the same time. But thats just here-say.
