if it were me i'd go for the turbo as well, with me i keep trying to save up for turbo but with all that money and seeing my little brother buy parts for his lancer makes me wanna just buy parts too, but if i ever manage to grab the turbo i know it would be worth it. if not, if i were u i would go with option 2 since your going for show anyways
go for # 2 dude if you can afford it. all the performance stuff is straight but honestly, why not separate your lancers exterior first and little by little get her quicker. You can only go so fast on the streets anyway and I think swallowing your pride and losin a few light to lights is worth it when you've gotta new honey on the passenger side every week. Happy 4th all.

Don't need exhaust... will lose about 10hp! Don't need gauges at stock boost... will not exceed 6 psi! Kit is complete so there is nothing else to go with it. You don't need motor work. As for install that is a good one if your not confortable with it. Thus 2880 for turbo then 500-600 for install. I highly recommend doing install yourself and paying for someone to do oil pan... maybe 30-40 bucks. The rest is easy trust me. Sorry Urban but just want people to know what they do and don't need. Other things are good and will help but not needed right off the bat nor needed at all if you stick stock so that you can pass smog! Kit may get carb cert within a year. Long before even the earlier buyers will need to smog.

6psi will not hurt pistons... there is no chance for detonation. Detonation is what kills pistons. Running higher than 6, which RRM will tell you not to do, takes you into the risk zone for detonation. As for exhuast it is not needed if he wants power now and do other little add ons later. The turbo kit is expensive but well worth it. Losing 10hp to exhaust restrictions is nothing and easy to get back later when he has more cash. Also there is a pending CARB CERT for the RRM kit. If this is approved he may not want to modify exhaust components as he'll be totally legal then. Some people prefer to be legal than not! Can not tell you how many phone calls are recieved by RRM with the ??'s "IS IT LEGAL?" Soon the answer may be yes! Also exhaust mods are cheap w/exception of header. You could always gut it to save $$. I changed header, took out second cat, and did muffler but all other piping is stock. Nothing custom so i could switch back to stock for smog. I recommend this to anyone that way later if they have cash they can upgade rather than put same money into NA upgrades that won't get them as much as turbo. Kind of a cost effective direction!
Whoa, so boe is running 13.8 with a muffler, less one cat and a stock exhaust. Imagine how fast you'll be when the Carb cert comes and you upgrade to full exhaust system and stage 2!
Not what i said SPOOL: What i said was:
I'm using RRM header, test pipe, and RRM Magnaflow muffler. These are all upgrades that bolt on so for smog i could just remove and bolt stock parts back on easily. RRM's turbo setup was specifically designed to use all stock components in order to meet emmisions still. That is why they are trying to get CARB CERT and will soon. Their kit is the only one designed this way. That is why you don't need to upgrade exhaust for going turbo. You will lose about 10HP but thats all. This goes for any turbo'd car from factory. Remove exhaust/emmision restrictions and gain HP. Hope this clears this up a bit more.

I clicked in on number 3 but I think you should just save your money and go turbo. I was thinking almost the exact same question and I am almost positive of just going turbo in a few months instead of weak little NA upgrades.
