Future setups

Just want some opions. In August I'm going to have about $2000 - $2500, and this is some setups I was thinking of doing with that money. Thanks for you opinions.

Setup One, Performance:
RRM Exhaust
RRM SRI
RRM Header
RRM Throttle Body
RRM Test Pipe
RRM Pistons

Setup Two, Show Stopper:
Apex Style Body Kit with KEN Front Bumper
VIS Racing Carbon Fiber Evo Style Hood
RRM Carbon Fiber Evo Style Grill
RRM Carbon Fiber Tailights
Cerious Performance Carbon Fiber Evo VII Wing

Setup Three, A Little Bit Of Both:
RRM Exhaust
RRM Test Pipe
RRM SRI
RRM CF Evo Style Grill
VIS Racing CF Evo Hood
Cerious Performance CF Evo VII Wing

*Note, I will be getting wheels and tires in September, so I didn't include that, and the drop will come when I put those on.

The turbo idea would be a good way to go. The 2800 includes everything you need. You would also need the $600 to install it but thats less than a months work. But trust me it would be worth it. I had the same setup as number one minus the pistons. The pistons wont do much unless you wanna raise the boost with a turbo. And with all those mods I still only ran a 16.9 on the track. And you dont have to get an exhaust right away for the turbo. It would be a good idea later down the road, but not necessary at first.

It will be until Dec, Jan, if I waited for turbo. Also I gotta find a way to convince my dad to put a turbo in. He doesn't mind too much for the bolt ons like exhaust, intake and stuff, he doesn't like when I mess with the turbo stuff. He got me this car, and he doesn't want me f'n it up like I did my last ride.

Also my ride is going to be based on more of show, I go to lots of car shows and everything, and I would liek to win some awards and stuff. I won't be taking it on a track much, probably just some sreet races here and there. That's why I would just buy some shiny bolt on pieces so I can atleast have my hood open for shows and stuff. The pistons I kow arent bolt ons, but I just threw that in the performance option cuz I had money left on my budget.

Also I got a friend that turbo charged his Eclipse, he said he knows some stuff about the Lancer and could probably hook me up with a turbo. Hoping he will only charge me like $1500 for it. So if I can do that with him, that's probably the only way I will be getting a turbo.

1500 from turbo off eclipse?? Just the turbo?? better be as nothing else will work. Installing the kit is easy... only takes about 6 hours. You don't need to pay for install. There's even a set of written directions now! You don't need pistons/rods/exhaust as you'll stay with stock boost setup and be safe. With all the stock exhaust you'll only loose like 10hp. It isn't a big deal but the gains are greater. Also there is talk of RRMs kit becoming 50state legal soon. They are working on it. Thus you may want to keep stock exhaust for regestration/inspection issues. Trust me... some seriously unskilled people have installed the RRM kit successfully. If you want go slow and take the whole weekend to do it. You'll like it better than any intake/exhaust/body kit upgrade. Hell you be smoking stock mustang GT's. After that you can save and do minor things like exhaust/TB/Body kit/suspension. If i had it to do all over again i'd have went turbo first rather than done all the rest. At least it is all done now??? Or is it ever really done?? RRM just keeps making stuff!

I dunno Boe I think stiffer springs and an LSD are must haves for a turbo set-up.

Lsd gives you extra edge... not needed if your more show as he said. Also lsd helps on launch... trust me the car is still fast w/o it. Springs are nice but again not necessary if he sticks to 6psi. I'd say wait till december. Then you may really want the kit, around that time there may be a big anouncement hint hint! Also your going for show and many honda guys that win are turbo... even Kontra went turbo... nothing like a nice shiny turbo under the hood with lots of powder coated piping to make a judge go awwwwssssooommme!! Especially on a lancer. Springs are cheap upgrade and easy to install. Depending upon type of course. It's your call but i warn you many said what your saying now and months later when they would have had all the cash say "I should have went turbo!" Especially after you get smoked by someone! If you do stay N/A, which isn't bad as you can get some nice show item in there... just get the RRM ecu upgrade. Trust me you'll love it and that will make you fast enough to beat most and suprise a lot of people!

Say if I buy the RRM TB and everything, wouldn't I have to take some of the turbo pieces out so I can reach the TB, o everytime I wanna put something else on I have to take the turbo back out. I was thinking (since I will be working on this car for a few years,) why not do all the rest of the mods then put the turbo in, kind of work from the inside out. ...Ya I would like to go as fast as I can now. It's just hard to decide what I want to do now. Right now I'm thinking I want to wait and get turbo, but then tomorrow I will be thinking different! Ah! Hehe!

If you buy TB later you just need to tak one pipe off... takes like 2 minutes if that. Then switch TB. About the only thing that would require some real work would be if you decided to go with RRM header. Then you have to remove turbo assembly and put header in. This still would only take about an Hour or so. Nothing really hard about the kit for upgrades. Things are set in so many pieces you usually have hardly any work at all to remove something out of the way. If you go to do engine work like pistons and rods then you'll be tearing everything apart anyway. It's just that simple!
